Which former rag player....

Paul McGrath, really nice guy was part of the ROI team that stayed in a hotel near me before Euro 88, didn't like Kevin Moran though.

I used to hire a Transit van occasionally to Clayton Blackmore when I was running a Ford Rentals depot.
He was a good friend of Geoff Goodwin, who owned Goodwins Coaches, and they were the company who used to hire the team coach for United games.
Geoff also had the contract to supply a coach each year to whichever foreign team played cricket against England each summer.
They also needed a Transit Jumbo van to move all the players luggage from venue to venue ( although not the actual cricket gear, that went in the hold of the coach so it arrived safely with the players who were going to wear/use it). And my company provided a Transit van each summer from early May until late September at very lucrative rates.
Clayton Blackmore used the hire van to collect and deliver antique furniture all around the country. He was an easy going ,very urbane and friendly guy who I got on great with.
And no I never made any mention of his name and where he was conceived etc.

Remember his testimonial at the swamp. Clapped and acknowledged the City fans after the game.
Funny the shit I remember whilst forgetting most of the important stuff.
The Duxbury testimonial, we won the game and all the rags had fucked off. Being in good spirits us Blues gave him a great reception when he came back onto the pitch with his kids, and he walked towards us and applauded us back.

I was at the Albiston testimonial as well but remember absolutely nothing about it, other than a feeling we won that one as well?
