Which is the more desperate scenario?

Does it really matter what the attitude on here is when the players attitude currently stinks (bar a few)?
Correct me if I am wrong but you dont get points for having a good attitude on your forum?

You're pretty much basing all this on one piss poor performance. It is a premature conclusion. The proof of the pudding will be in the reaction. I'm sorry to keep harping back to last season, but it is undeniable that the exact same things were being said about the players now were being said last April with six games to play.

1 piss poor performance??? You not been recently then?
Some of the players attitude is not right FACT you can tell this by the (lack of) effort they put in.
QPR was a bad peformance was there a reaction v Liverpool? No
That was a bad performance was there a reaction v Saints? No

The title is gone focus on the Cup and rebuild for next year in the summer

Last season was not that remarkable.

They had an eight point lead obviously, but they were always odds-on to lose at our place, so you could say it was only really 5.

So they just needed 1 defeat somewhere and a draw. That was all. The Wigan defeat was also not that surprising in that Wigan had been playing extremely well having just beaten Liverpool and they would have beaten Chelsea were it not for refereeing howlers. The rags were playing shit when they went to Wigan as well.

So it really was not that staggering. The draw with Everton was a surprise, not because Everton are not tough to beat, but because you normally expect Moyes to lube up before meeting Bacon chops.

This season is an entirely different proposition. We are asking the scum to lose at least another 4 games, from a fairly easy fixture list. One or two slips ups conceivably. But 4 or 5? Not a prayer. Plus, I don't expect Saturday was our last dropped points either.

I think they will win by more than 12 points, sadly. Our challenge - and make no mistake it is a BIG challenge - is to retain 2nd spot.

All in all, not so much a disappointment. More a complete and utter unmitigated fuck up. A right royal fuck up.

Alright, a couple of sub-standard performances and one piss poor performance. All in all, nothing that didn't happen last season. People forget.

Haha, I like your optimism but this is nothing like last season. How many goals had we scored by this time last year? How many points behind were we? How many games at home did we lose? How many performances like the one on Saturday did you see? And what are the odds of united throwing it away again for a second year with an even greater gap?

Last season was an unbelievable season from start to finish, and you couldn't have written it. And if an even more dramatic twist occurred this year it would be amazing. Highly unlikely, but amazing. But this season is not last season!!

Is it more difficult to overhaul an 8 point lead with 6 to go or a 12 point lead with 12 to go and why?

Just asking.

remaining fixtures

What about them? They're all winnable. And the rags will drop points.

A poor performance yet a win at Southampton
Poor performance at Anfield
Poor performance v Everton
Sunderland
Stoke, Arsenal, Fulham, Villa CC, Swansea, West Ham, Chelsea, Reading all poor performances
Lets not ignore all but 1 game in the CL either
We did not have 19 piss poor performances last season

There is no feckin way the bacon faced wanker will let a 12 point lead slip.. Everyday since we won the title he will have been reminding them how it felt to loose and that it was in there grasp etc etc etc, so IMO no fucking chance they will loose a 12 point lead!

"1997/98 season. Following a 1-0 victory over Chelsea at the end of February, Man United looked to have all but sealed their fifth Premier League title, boasting a 12-point lead over the Gunners. However, Arsenal proceeded to win 10 consecutive matches, including the famous 1-0 victory at Old Trafford to wipe out the mammoth deficit. During that same period, Fergie's side lost twice (against Sheffield Wednesday and Arsenal) and draw three times (with West Ham, Liverpool, Newcastle), leaving Arsenal to wrap up the title with two games to spare".

There was no fucking way in 97/08 either. I say again. IT HAS BEEN DONE.

Arsenal had 3 games in hand over Utd at that point

Blue Hefner is right. Arsenal had 3 games in hand in 97/98
