I'm surprised how many votes United have got. I grew up and went to school in the 90s and 00s when they were dominating English football and winning champions leagues. Back then, I'd have voted United. I used to want them to lose more than us win. Today, I've never felt hatred like I do towards Liverpool. United are an irrelevance these days.

FC United, Stockport, Boro, Wigan and Millwall are an irrelevance but I hate them more than most clubs listed at the top of this thread.I'm surprised how many votes United have got. I’d hate United if they were in the North West Counties leagues with Wythenshawe Town and Wythenshawe Amateurs.
A derby rivalry is never irrelevant.
We’d only played Leeds twice in about 18 years before last season but both games last season were like proper derby atmospheres with them. There was a real hunger to beat them in our support in those games as if they’ve been our direct rivals in all the years we’ve not had a game with them.

I'm pleased to see Liverpool at the top of this list. An obsession with and jealousy of Man United has damaged this club since the 1970s. Laugh at them of course, like they did with us, but our rivals now are Liverpool, maybe Chelsea, Real Madrid and Barcelona.

Obviously I laugh when United lose (which is quite often these days), Chelsea wind me up no end and Liverpool are like the football club embodiment of rugby with the holier-than-thou-but-actually-not schtick. But at the end of the day, it's just people. When rivalry spills over to hate is when the problems start.
