Which watch do you wear?

I'd pay 500 squid for a belt or shoes if the market value was £46k. in fact i'd be intrested in a bucket full. Seems comical when you think the correct timepieces have far outstripped bricks and mortar and folk where well adviced to think these were a sound investment, made enough shows on the tele ramming it down peoples throats...worse than them pricks on the road show dressed in dickie bows talking with a plum in the mouth and after all thier chat they personally aint pulling fuck all up ($'s)....be far easier to know which specific watch to buy than entertain that shit.

Buy a Rolex Daytona if you can fund one, they fetch more used than new I've heard

A guy on a bike forum I used to use was on a number of waiting lists and bought and sold them for around £900 profit each time I'm sure

I would seriously spend vast amounts of money here, if I had the disposable income. You would be suprised how many people have!

Bobby Manc wears Richard Mille

Not a huge watch can but I bought myself a nice watch whilst in NYC 4 years ago. It's a Tissot PRS516 NASCAR Limited Edition watch. I paid $400 for it and I can't find another one like it anywhere. There are some similar but this has a chequered flag on the inside if the face, and a steering wheel imprinted on the back of the watch.

Not really a fan but this is a bit pretty.

The fact that people pay over £1000, even over £100, for a watch in a recession simply blows my mind.

Can I ask those who pay silly money for watches - would you spend £500 on a belt or a pair of shoes too?
So, if everybody stopped buying "stuff" in a recession, what do you think would happen?

For everyone else questioning why some folk pay so much, then you just don't get it. Personally , I m happy to spend a couple of grand or more on a decent watch. Not because I want to show off, or impress people( lets face it 99% of other folk wouldn't notice it anyway),it's because I like them. I like the work that goes into them, I love the history behind the brand, I love the quirkiness, the functionality, the depth rating, the way they look etc.etc.
I also know that if the buffers come off my own personal situation , then at least I have a stock of watches that'll be sold to tide me over for a considerable amount of time.
amen brother. love watches. spend a fortune on em. buy em for me, no one else. let the knobbers buy armani and ben shermans.

-- Sun Mar 17, 2013 10:17 pm --
