Evening Aphex. I don't drink most spirits on their own and deffo not scotch - but next time you're out, try a Jamesons on it's own with no ice - magic
I prefer Jamies with the one rock of ice. Just one mind, I'm very specific on that. I find it enhances the flavour. I prefer Scotch whiskey as a general rule, bit if we're talking Irish Bushmills is king imo.

Sod it I think I'll have a Jamesons as well :-) I got given six special edition dimpled Jamesons glasses by a gay barman in Paris - but that's another story!!

should have organised a Jamesons party but you're all snowed in and it's a long way to Hampshire so I will just have to drink it on my own - cheers!

bit of a philistine/too skint for top notch ones
my whisky geek mate occasionally tries to educate me ,gives me tasting notes and gets me to notice the falvours
i'll say something like
let's try it microwaved
tell you what 10 secs in the microwave gets the taste out
was sampling some dalmore this weekend
fucking awesome

Can't imagine any tasting notes suugesting a short blast in a microwave (the devils machine), but maybe you are at the cutting edge

don't get tied down with scotch, its hard core and a little over rated generally.

What's single malt whisky like from the isle of Islay like ? Has anyone tried it ? I'm also not a 'whisky-head' but i feel like i should buy a bottle of whisky for if any visitors ask for a wee dram ?
