Royal Lochnagar is apparently nice. So my daddy says.

No idea whether it is a single malt though - but I've walked round the distillery a few times and it smells nice.
 
My favourite blended is Johnnie Walker Black Label. It's a bit pricey but well worth the money, but Jamesons is good stuff.
As for single malts, I reckon one of the most common ones Glenmorangie is top quality.
