White heterosexual male wins discrimination case.

there was something else at the end of that piece about if there was a few candidates who were 'all equal' from a skills/suitability that it is deemed ok to use positive discrimination in selecting which candidate to pick. that is disgusting too - you've just illegally discriminated against the remaining few who got the boot because they didn't fit the demographic profile 'mandated' - literally picking straws is the best selection method in that situation!

Not sure about Cheshire but I know a couple of people who work for Staffordshire police who live in Staffordshire.

Interesting I thought it would potentially put you at risk working in your local area, or be tempted into corruption by people you grew up with ect.

To be honest they should bring back the height restriction, was in Berlin the other week and their police were giants including the women. Would rather fuck em than fight em. You get these 5ft nothings trying to arrest violent men and they just get bullied off scroats.

The best person for the job should always get the job and no other considerations should come into it. It's as simple as that.

If that means a whole work force is completely white middle class males, or all females, or a mix of females/males/white British/black British/East Asian/white Eastern European/white Irish/Somalian immigrant who got citizenship then it shouldn't matter if every person in every role was the best/most suitable person interviewed/headhunted.

Nobody should ever get a position just because they tick a box for diversity and no people in positions of power or media should call for more diversity in a work place or a panel if the people employed were the right people for the job.

I think it was Garth Crooks who complained that there wasn't enough diversity in the England World Cup bid panel. But he never considered whether the people who got the roles were the best person.

Absolutely agree.

Cheshire has a 98% white demographic and a 97.6% white police force, so it reflects the Cheshire population. There isn't any masonic racist hidden agenda, the information is out there. In the news this week the diversity specialists were complaining that they wanted London to be policed by 40% minorities to reflect Londons changing population and nothing was said about that.

Would you like Cheshire to bus in BAME people to fill the quota? Really?

Quite honestly, your posts show how increasingly short sighted you are as a person.

There's definitely some hidden agenda you have going on, cos it lingers in almost every post.

There might more of a demographic leaning towards a race or another, but there should have been more effort to 'harmonise' the force earlier. But, you wouldn't understand what that means. You integrate more of the opposing dynamic so that people accept that actually, Humans are Humans rather than see the same shade reflected around you.

That change happened in earnest(and consent) 70 years ago and its only relatively recently the police are starting to understand that.

They should have gotten the police working as one, rather than the 'them and us' situation that happened, quite notoriously, within it.

It's the sheer will of ignorance of not knowing the history of BAME and the police that made me respond to you and I'll keep myself in check for the next time.

I know of an ex royal marine who was an ideal candidate for the fire service who was not selected by HR because he said fireman 3 times in his interview instead of firefighter!! That’s how ridiculous it’s all got now, yet they are hiring people who can’t even get the ladder off the fire engine.

Whilst I get that, understand that if you have two candidates of similar skills, one of whom is called Steve Blacksmith and the other slightly better is called Dritharashtrar Chinchansure, the the chances of Mr Chinchansure getting the nod is distant, simply cos it's 'easier' not to struggle with a name. I know a lad that's resorted to calling himself 'AJ' (not even close to any resemblance of his name) cos people can't say his name!

So, yes, I get why there is SOME positive discrimination in some aspects.

I don't agree with it, but that's where we are.
