Who’s gone in the summer?

In my opinion, based on this season and where relevant some games last season, none of Bravo, Otamendi or Angelino are anywhere near good enough and need to go.

Whilst I'd definitely keep him as a squad player, Jesus isn't prolific enough to take over from an ageing Kun, so we either need a top striker or more goals from midfield/wings to make up the shortfall. I still think Sancho would be our ideal signing for a forward role.

If I had my way.

Mendy.(sadly, injuries have finished him)
Otamendi.(should have left last season)
Bravo.(poor 2nd keeper)
Cancelo.(only because Pep isn’t playing him)
Angeliño.(even as a squad player, he isn’t good enough)
Stones?(still think he is a decent enough centre half and squad player)

Basically we need to rebuild the back 4 again.

A second keeper. A World lass centre half. And 2 very good full backs.

Not much change from £200mill. Have we got that money? And with-in FFP rules?

Prior to FFP, Sheikh Mansour would have bought those players from his own wealth. Exactly why FFP was brought in by UEFA and their cartel clubs. To stop City, PSG, etc. It’s worked, unfortunately.

Is Fernandihno likely to leave? I wonder if Arteta would be interested as a cheap option, someone who knows exactly how Arteta is trying to play, and with big question marks over Torriera & Xhaka's future.....??
No chance, he will want a big pay day, I would say a perfect fit for NYCFC with a coaching/ management role included.

Added to that, a striker (world class) and a left winger, probably take the bill up to 350m

Sales of Sane , Jesus and Mahrez? to settle the tab?

Yeah, was just thinking out loud a bit.

You guys will be fine, it's amazing how different a team can look losing 1 or 2 players from key positions. Laporte back from injury, a couple of good signings and you guys will be motoring again.

Missing key folk in defence destabilises the full team, you start to question the quality of lots of positions, but get that defence right again & you'll soon be flying.

Sorry, forgot about Mahrez.

He has to go if we keep Sane.

Sane will not stay knowing Mahrez is staying and is direct competition.

If we sell Sane, we should get between £75mill-£100mill for him off Bayern or another big European club, if they come sniffling?

  • David Silva - Leaving anyway.
  • Bravo - Not good enough.
  • Otamendi - ditto.
  • Angelino - ditto.
  • Mendy - Injuries have done for him.
  • Cancelo - Why did we buy him?
  • Stones - Just no progress and injury prone.
Also Fernandinho and Gundogan are not getting any younger, so I hope Rodri and Foden can replace them ASAP, Aguero can not go on for ever either.

At worse we need a keeper, a complete back line and a striker - six player so no change from £300m less any incoming fees.

Most great teams are build from the back and the central spine, our defenders give everyone the jitters.

Because I do not think Pep see's him as a long term solution for Augero.

His value is now high and I think the club would be happy to move him on and bring in Martinez.
I think you are wrong in that assumption. I think Pep likes him just fine. It's fans who don't.

I don't rate Martinez any higher. Im not sure he has that intensity that a press team requires

I don't think Mahrez will be competition for Sane on the left wing, i can't really recall him playing there.

Safe bets:
Silva - Already confirmed.
Bravo - Never worked out for him.
Ottomendi - 12 months too late.

Curve ball:
Ferny, Aguero or Jesus.
