Who are the good pundits?

A special mention for Warnock for the stupidest comment of the season so far. Haaland headed away a Bournemouth corner
“That’s exactly what he’s in the team for”
Yes, Stephen, we bought the most sought after young striker in the world just so that we could put him on the near post for Bournemouth’s only corner.
Yeah, he’s not too swift, but the accent doesn’t exactly make him sound very clever either.

Stephen Warnock, who couldn't keep his fucking trap shut.
After the third City goal went in, a despondent Warnock commented "I'm sad to report that it's game over now."

Can't wait to hear someone co-commentate on a Liverpool win as a sad game over for the viewers. Lol.

Pundits are trained puppets so it's all kept in the family. Turn em off. Simple.

I don’t think the broadcasters understand what the fans want from punditry. We don’t need analysis or technical insight, the vast majority of fans understand the nuances of the game perfectly well. What we want are familiar faces who we know have played at a high level in games we remember watching, discussing what’s happened.

Foisting upon us women we’ve never heard of to trot out cliche after cliche without adding anything to the conversation ticks a box but alienates many viewers
Actually, what intelligent fans do want is decent analysis from ex-pros who can bring more insight into the build up to goals. For too long, most of the ones used (Owen and McManaman spring to mind) have been stealing a living, offering no information and being nothing more than a famous name.

But your problem seems to be with women in general so probably shouldn't be surprised by the rest of your 'thoughts'

Only pay attention to Tim Vickery, Trans Europe Express for some info on European and South American football and listening to James Richardson podcast for fun. The rest is just white noise to me.

Yeah, it's a balance finding "entertainment" for the casual fans and insight, but there's not nearly enough of the tactics. Clearly any player who has played at any professional level knows more than me, but I can read the game fairly well, I'd much prefer to hear what I'm missing rather than variations of pub chat ("they just wanted it more") that I can hear anyway.
