Just ignore his 1st season then..
He wasn't playing regualr football in any season so he wasn't gelling.

i'll paste it here, so you can easily find which quote it was.
corrigan still wasn't better than jennings, who imo was the best british keeper around at,the time
Yeah well i chose to ignore that one cause i did kinda mention right at the very start (i cant be arsed highlighting it) that corrigan was world class for a 4 yr period towards the end of his career right around the time he lost his weight and broke the shilton/clemence bio right to international (world) caps. This was a period in time he was actually better than Jennings, Jennings i agree had been more than a gud 'un but his period was earlier, post '76-ish he was unashamedly off his best and busying himself with collecting testomonials. Read what i actually wrote before you start giving folk instructions to what to do with thier glasses...is my tip for the day.

I read your post at the start and saw the time you were referring to, around 79/80-83/84 i assumed, and like i said, world class is used too loosely.
joe corrigan, world class? never. you could take anytime in his career, and he wouldn't have been 1st choice goalkeeper in any world XI side, which is what world class means isn't it?
Good keeper, undoubtedly yes, world class?,no.
Tevez' form of last season makes him in the top 5 strikers in the world though because there isn't 5 forwards who were better than him in the major leagues in the world.Sabster said:toddy111 said:Rooney is VERY overrated.
99% of his goals are tap ins and he only really performs when his team are playing well - He showed this in England vs USA.
Tevez can change games, the way he runs at people and doesn't give up is unbelievable (unlike Rooney - if things aren't going his way he gives up and has a strop). Tevez can hit a goal or two from out side the box and around the edge of the area (as he proved last season). Rooney has scored 91 goals for Utd in the 189 games he has played for Utd (0.48 goals per game). Tevez has only been at City for one season and has had to have time to gel etc and scored 23 goals in 35 games (0.66 goals per game).
For these reasons i would pick Tevez over Rooney in my World XI team...
Extremely biased view there. Tevez is not in the top 5 strikers in the world, and Rooney works just as hard and has the propensity to change games just as much as tevez does.
What was tevez's goal ratio at united? Only fair comparison..

Best out and out centre forwards of last season for me
1. Didier Drogba
2. Wayne Rooney
3. Diego Milito
4. Carlos Tevez
5. Gonzalo Higuain
6. David Villa
7. Fernando Torres
8. Jermain Defoe
9. Edin Dzeko
10. Antonio Di Natale

Slow the bastherd bus our kid, lets keep it simple simon said....by '77/'78/'79/'80 Jennings wasnt even the third best keeper in the country but i have a sneaky suspicion you know that and i'm on candid camera.
