This is precisely why I always urge our fans to back the players such that when they retire they speak fondly of our club. This is players of the ilk of Lake, Goater, Rosler players who felt the love of the fans and as a result still follow us today.
Admittedly our lack of success in recent years has meant that we are limited on the profile of players that the likes of Sky and BT would want as pundits.
However it annoys me that Sky seem to select ex players who are so partisan to the rags and scouse. Plenty of high profile players out there that are not one club men that would make good pundits.
I'm hoping that Bellamy may be a good candidate who would be in our camp when he retires,

After listening to him on GMR I think that the Goat is a good shout. The one I really fancy for the gig would be Richard Dunne.
I think he is just outside our top 10 in appearances, captained the club for years, Captained his country, he got over 90% of the vote in the Bluemoon player of the "Noughties" and he has always come across in interviews as bright and decent.
He is someone I would like to go for a pint with and I would really like him in City's corner.

Ex Liverpool players ruled the punditry last 20 or so years, it's Rags who are taking over now, I guess some Chelsea men will join in next few years and then it's City time :D
TVs want big names and to be honest not many of them from City are available at this moment.
But then again, not many Brittsh players around City currently. I could only see Hart being good for it. The likes of Milner or Barry doesn't look to be able to entertain anyone tbh. Eventually Lescott. Micah probably dies from laugh on funerals too, not really fit for serious TV programs.
