29, left footed, plays a high line and would play well with Kompany and he's still absolutely world class imo, not ancient, he's just been in their first team since he was about 17.

With all due respect, because you've probably seen him play more often than I have, but I have seen people raving about Chiellini for years on here but pretty much every time I have seen him play against decent opposition he has been all over the fucking place. And I don't mean that in a good way.

Everyone's entitled to their opinion :), Chiellini can be left exposed by Juve's formation against the top teams as he's got the biggest workload of the back 3, sweeper and bringing the ball forward, but he's still a top class centre half imo

Wrote a long diatribe about possible players, their pro's and con's, what we need and why, how they'd fit in, formations and all that but fuck it ... just sign:

- Mangala (supposedly the next big thing so just pay what is needed)
- Ashley Cole (Shaw looks Chelsea bound and Cole is a free agent - needs to agree to sensible wages tho)
- A DM like Gustavo (others have done goofed by signing new contracts)
- I.S.C.O (unsettled at Real. Replacement for Jovetic -good player but the new Darren Anderton- cut our losses)

Mangala, Jagielka, Cancelo and Shaw/Coentrao for me, then get rid of both our LB's, DM and Lescott. I don't think either of our leftbacks are good enough and I'd rather have one great one than two who both have massive flaws, Mangala can fill in at LB when needed or possibly sign a young understudy. Cancelo to cover and be long term successor to Zaba.

At CB, Mangala would compliment Vinny nicely, while Jagielka would be good cover while Nastasic and Rekik compete for the 4th spot. Jagielka is consideredably better on the ball than Lescott while also a pretty dependable defender (and Homegrown)
