Did Beckham deliver at international football.Of all the so called greats in the Premier League i can only think of Owen who delivered at international level from the so called golden generation.I'm too young to have seen Moore or Bell.
In my lifetime I'd certainly have Shearer up there. Fast, two footed, clinical, aggressive and scored free kicks for fun. Great in the air too. If he was around now he'd be the only one able to come close to Haaland.
Gazza was also another who had the lot and he could've been one of the best in the world.
I don't like to say it but Scholes was very good. If we're talking just about England games, Beckham usually delivered.
I think Foden has the potential to be the best though!
Agree.. like Colin Bell, Paul Madeley cruised around a football pitch and made playing in any position (which he did for Leeds, apart from goalkeeper*) look like it was a doddle.Heart say Belly head says Paul Madeley
Dare I say it that **** Charlton was a great player as well.Agree.. like Colin Bell, Paul Madeley cruised around a football pitch and made playing in any position (which he did for Leeds, apart from goalkeeper*) look like it was a doddle.
For me, he was the ultimate 'Protean' player.. like Colin Bell, would be worth £gazillions on the transfer market at today's prices..
(* curiously, another 60s/70s great, the glorious Martin Peters, actually did play in every position including goalkeeper for West Ham)
