Haven't you seen footage of the Bayern team in the seventies and the nationalteam back then? Sepp Maier is still the best german keeper of all time, imo. Kahn was a beast though, no doubt. A one man defense who at his peak (98-02) was arguably as good as anyone, but over his career, I'd pick Maier ahead of him comfortably.

Brought art, skill, fitness and agility to this most skilful position. Had gloves like coal scuttles. IMHO.

He was fun. He even hunted ducks on the pitch... ;) - and was a comedian off the pitch. He was the goalkeeper coach at Bayern and the national team until Klinsmann came - Klinsmann and him could not get around...

What about a 90 minute solo effort, Weaver against Ipswich, some of those saves were not normal.

Pat Jennings. Made saves with every part of his body. And I think he scored against Utd.

I'm sure keepers like Trautmann, Banks, Jennings, Shilton, Zoff, Yashin etc were fantastic keepers, however I either never saw them play, or only saw them when they were really old and past their best (in the case of Shilton, Zoff and Jennings) so I can't really rank them as being the "Best of All Time" as such a distinction needs to be based upon personal opinion.

For me Buffon has always been quality, however he's on the wane these days. Oliver Khan was a decent keeper too. However, as much as it pains me to say it, the best keeper I have ever seen play was Peter Schmeichel.
