Who is your dream signing?

I know Maicon is a right back , but regardless of the side :) who is better in defending and attacking ?

To be fair Robinho is better defensively than Maicon, it's hardly his forte is it? He's an attack minded player who can't defend for toffee.

Actually Maicon is pretty solid defensively but its almost an impossible to find an attacking fullback who is both great defensively and in the attack (even great fullbacks like Roberto Carlos and Cafu were just decent defensively and great in the attack). Maldini for example was great defensively and just decent in the attack. It's almost an impossible to have someone who is really great on both fronts.

I think Maicon right now is considered the best right back in the world by many so he's definitely better than Kolarov but Kolarov is an up and coming World class left back. He's solid defensively and great in the attack (physically he's great just like Maicon) both players can run up and down the flanks non-stop the whole game. Personally i rate Kolarov really high....

You can't even begin to compare the two. Maldini was the best EVER in defence and excellent going forward too, great pace, great vision, pin-point passing, strong, got back quickly. Maicon is also excellent in attack but he is very very far from solid defensively. I'd say a shambles defensively would be closer. He luckily has Cambiaso, Lucio, Cordoba, Materazzi, Chivu, etc to cover for his severe shortcomings. Watch in the world cup how many times he finds himself totally out of position, or in position but skinned easily. There'll be many to choose from.
