Who joins us in January?

The Release Clause.

Both and the player would not want to move just yet either. Similar with Zubimendi (although he is carrying a back injury). Porto are in a middle of the title race and are on course for the latter stages of the Champions League. They aren't going to further weaken themselves at this stage and they aren't going to do us any favours either seeing we have poached their DoF.
I doubt it very much at this stage. Already lost their manager and DoF. Still in the title race, player might not fancy moving in January. Porto are no mugs either.
Are you aware Porto and Sporting lisbon are different clubs?

Fair enough it still Chrismas. The point still remains the same.
We are known to move on from a target if they don’t want to join us at our choosing. I would be surprised if some of the players mentioned earlier with release clauses wouldn’t leap at the chance in January because it may not come again. They may have to take a pinch this season on achievements but longer term a player will be well suited at city for winning trophies and earning a very high salary

It would still take a lot of convince to make the leap mid season with us still looking wobbly. Too much pressure for them to perform with the current situation with the squad. Money is one thing but they stillwant the best conditions to really thrive and Pep's methods do take time to really adapt to.

We have the very best conditions any player could want, yes it’s tougher mid season but so what. Let’s not try and think a couple of bad months for our club would come in the way of a player making one of the most important decisions of their lives. Playing for City, Madrid, Bayern, Barcelona and maybe Liverpool in the pinnacle for most young players.

Our form hasn't been the best and the top players would have noticed that. They wouldn't risk it at this stage of the season especially they are at clubs challenging for honours as well.

Half a season to get up to speed, a club world cup, and hit the ground running with two seasons of Pep. With better pay and the best training in the world.

Not for every player maybe but if the charges look like they're not coming to much then they'll be plenty willing to make the move.

It is of course just the way we see it, but my view is a mobile DM if not 2, does stop us being vulnerable, it also helps with the attack. If you take Leicester for example, they compositely dominated the midfield in the 2nd half, despite being completely shit. pretty sure our tackle rate is the lowest in the league. If we do not buy at least 1 DM in January we will not be in the CL, we may not even be in Europe as our midfield is burnt out.
I am fookin sick of our poor tackling...it's part and parcel of the game ffs

They probably want to finish their season with the club that has played their part in developing their game and then decide to take the plunge at City with a clean slate and more of a chance in adpating during the summer.
