I think he mainly did that to himself.
Up to a point yes.
He’d got away with all sorts of scandals and sleaze , and had even managed to get a KGB agent’s son into the House of Lords, against all the advice from the security services. He’d leapt on a plane to get to a Lebedev party when he was ordered to , having ditched his own security and govt.minders, to get his de-briefing.
He was an incredibly ‘useful idiot’ to the Russians.
They engineered brexit using him as their figurehead, and got the subsequent 80 seat majority as a reward. They financed a sleazy grubby greedy Tory party fo years and reaped the Johnson led benefits.
Unfortunately for both parties Ukraine came along and the useless blob had to, as the leader of a prominent nato nation, row in with the anti-Russian sentiments.
That is the point where he hit the buffers as far as the Russians were concerned.
He had reached the end of his use to them- he had to go.
Now they are fishing around for a replacement. They’re in no great hurry as they survey the political and economic wreckage of Britain, but they will need someone in the next 5/6/years or so, and, let’s face it, they shouldn’t be to hard pushed to find another stupid, greedy, malleable, lazy, sleazy traitor in the Tory party.
