I suspect even the most stupid of Tories realises Brexit has been a shit-show so far and is likely to be for another decade at least. The cost of living crisis is a long way from reaching its worst point. The unrest in the NHS, other public services, and former public services such as the railways, will continue due to limited investment and low pay.
The Tories know they can lose power this year and things will still be relatively shite in four or five years time when they can regain power by blaming everything on Labour, and whichever party they are in coalition with.

I see this and realise the issues but I get puzzled by what’s going on these days. We should maximise our gas output from North Sea and fracking, to get the prices down at home and sell the excess to Europe in my opinion. It seems madness that currently Germany buys gas off Russia giving them money to build/buy weapons meanwhile we give arms to Ukraine to protect against those weapons! Nobody should be buying gas off Russia even if it means short term pain e.g. rationing whilst home production is ratcheted up.

I think nuclear is fine, but a) why are we getting the French or the Chinese to build our nuclear power stations and b) why does it take 8 years? America invented the atom bomb in like 3-4 and that was eighty years ago before even computers were invented.

P.S. I read a book recently that explained that anything we do or are doing to try to save the planet, well it’s pointless as the tipping point is past and we can’t stop a climate disaster now, so why not deal with short term issues eg Russia/Ukraine instead?
