I am looking forward to that moment when the Tory Party realise and collectively think "OMG what have we done" #thicklizzy
Any country with a policy like this is worth vilifying. It made my head hurt.
You just know that if someone passed that, there would be hundreds of thousands who would go out and do a good solid bit of vilifying to make the point.
I suspect even the most stupid of Tories realises Brexit has been a shit-show so far and is likely to be for another decade at least. The cost of living crisis is a long way from reaching its worst point. The unrest in the NHS, other public services, and former public services such as the railways, will continue due to limited investment and low pay.Does anyone go for re-election when wages have been stagnant for 12 years public services also - people will be struggling just to live Brexit is a failure/not done and Covid will be rearing up again come autumn and the flu season - oh and various investigations - Grenfell - Covid - will be highlighting Tory failures. Its a great ticket to run on I suppose " vote for us and by default me Liz who has been in the Cabinets that brought that shit to you since 2014 - oh and Corbyn"................
I see this and realise the issues but I get puzzled by what’s going on these days. We should maximise our gas output from North Sea and fracking, to get the prices down at home and sell the excess to Europe in my opinion. It seems madness that currently Germany buys gas off Russia giving them money to build/buy weapons meanwhile we give arms to Ukraine to protect against those weapons! Nobody should be buying gas off Russia even if it means short term pain e.g. rationing whilst home production is ratcheted up.Truss wants to:
- exploit North Sea gas fully
- stop green levy (okay, this would save a little money, but only if it is actually passed on, so... nope)
- stop planting of solar panels by farmers (Sunak agrees with this)
- faster expansion of nuclear reactors (more than 1/year for 8 years? Good luck with that)
- local modular nuclear reactors. Um, these don't exist at the moment
- fracking is good "if the local community supports it" - "localised earthquake with your frack, guv?"
Best get the suntan stocks in, 'cos we're going burn. Any govt minister related to COP26 shoul dbe resigning on principle if this becomes policy.
