fuck me - Sunak saying out loud the bits he is supposed to only think.................. where he is speaking looks horribly deprived - where he is stood there is nowhere selling humous within 10 miles !!

Presumably Truss was holding onto that for the right moment and after the Sky debate went so badly for her she's leaked this.

This leadership election has been absolutely perfect for anyone who wants the conservatives out of power.

Probably not that many party members in the red wall seats so won't affect the leadership election.
Might be slightly uncomfortable for red wall MPs.

I used to think that way but the Tories have been so bad for this country since 2010 that the two year disaster of a Truss premiership would probably be worth it for the country in the long run if it meant them losing power

Followed by 4 years of Starmer and then Labour would be out of the game for another 20 years.
