She’s the Education Secretary, not some random woman in sweatpants causing a ruckus in Tesco. Mind you, the random woman would probably do a better job as Education Secretary.

Not sure what the amount you earn has got to do with it but if you want to play that game a teacher earning at lot less that 75k a year would be in deep shit if they did what she did in a workplace context.

It's about what the professional standards and expectations are in the job you are in and in all three of those cases the expectation is you wouldn't do it.

My bigger issue was with her subsequent statement which was sorry not sorry. For people who are keen to have the public take responsibility for their actions and lives this lot seem remarkably unable to own their own shit, it's always someone else's fault.

Contest appears to be moving into a Sunak versus Everyone Else situation, with the fault line taxation. Quite intriguing that the person who has been working in the Treasury is the one person who insists that taxes cannot be cut at the moment, whereas all of the others are promising a range of such cuts. Given the numbers needed, it’s hard to see Sunak winning.

The advantage of VAT is that it is a consumption tax which nobody can evade other than by not purchasing the goods/services in question.

If you want to stop massive tax evasion then those cash only signs that you get in takeaways, nail bars etc need to be made illegal.
If everyone had to pay by card it would make a massive difference.

My Mrs (Nursery head teacher) has had some run ins at the school gates, with some Parents being abusive in the past - if she stuck her middle finger and walked off she’d face some hefty disciplinary and possibly sacked

It wasn’t just a finger either, she was walking past shouting bollox and thinking she was above everyone else - she come across as a right entitled bellend and as the actual education secretary it’s pretty unbelievable.
