Who started the ridiculous notion that City were better without Haaland ?

It definitely took us a while to get used to playing *well* with him in the team. Until about 2 months ago I think his goals were papering over the cracks of his introduction causing us a few problems as a team. Not surprising, we'd played a few seasons with a false 9 and it was bound to take time for Pep to find something that worked as well as that. Stones sussing out his new role has been the tipping point. Before that it looked like Pep was struggling to accommodate him to me. Now he has, obviously it looks even better than the false 9 system because it's now a fully functioning system with a goal scoring beast at the top of it. .
Yep. Folk are forgetting that period when we just couldn’t get the ball to him and he looked demoralised - roughly from Dec to Feb but I’ll stand to be corrected on the exact time frame. When he started he was blistering but then teams worked out they could isolate him and as the others didn’t/couldn’t give him the service thoughts turned back to the well oiled machine we had been last seqson. At the same time it seemed like others in the side had lost the goal scoring confidence and Arsenal were looking much better. Since then the whole team - including Haaland - has upped its game. Now when Haaland is not in a position to score he will assist or assist in the assist. You didn’t see that in his game in December. He has become much more creative as time has passed as is right.

I'm going to start a thread at the end of the season on most ridiculous opinions on city during the season, and this will be opinion 1.

Does anyone remember who started this nonsense a few week/months ago, declaring that we were a better team without him ?
Did it originate from some clown in the media, some nobless cretin from tv, or an even bigger idiot from Twitter ?
Whoever it was, started quite a debate (and a fucking bad one at that).
50 goals says differently you gormless twat, whoever you are.

It was Drone off here definitely him

Whoever it it was I do think they may have had a point. They were wrong but they might have had a point!

In the beginning Erling was a fairly static target man who didn't really fit in with our false number 9 system. The rest of the squad had to adapt to a new way of thinking and we we saw that with Arsenal taking an early hold on the league, despite Haaland's fantastic goalscoring.
What we have seen over recent weeks though is Erling adapting more to the rest of the the squad. His link up play has become immense and the understanding with KDB in particular and the rest of the team overall has blossomed under Pep's tutelage.

If this had been under Ole, Jose, Klopp, Frank, hag or any of the others that never improve and develop players , I really don't think the gentle adaptation in styles would have worked.

Haaland is twice the player he was when he joined us. That must be a frightening thought for the rest of the league (and Europe)

Ironically though I prefer the beauty of Julian's goals. His elegance and execution is so Kunesque.
We are just so spoilt!

We paid a shit load of money for Haaland and he's only scored 50 goals upto now, Definitely maybe,
Also he's from Yorkshire and not a true Mancunian so he's only here for the money you know
