Before the world cup, my thought was, other than sticking the ball in the net, which he is very good at, he didn't add anything to the team. This showed in how few times he touched the ball.
Since the world cup he's a complete different player. He's added so much to his game, getting involved in build up, getting assists. It's obviously something he's worked on in training and it shows

It took half a season for Haaland to adapt to City’s style of play and for us to find a system that suited him best which meant that in spite of him scoring loads of goals, we dropped points unexpectedly and other than score goals he didn’t do much. Now he’s bedded in he’s fully integrated into the team, holds the ball really well and provides nearly as many assists as goals and unsurprisingly we’re not dropping points any more. We also have plans B and C when things aren’t going to plan whereas before we didn’t adapt as well when we weren’t getting anywhere. Next season will be a walkover unless some of the other teams get their shit together, which hopefully they will to make it more exciting.
