Yes, went with few Blues from Ashton. Absolute mayhem. Remember our van got ambushed by scousers near Stanley park, we opened the back door and a Kung Fu star came flying in launched by the bin dippers. Apologies to any younger Blues that don’t remember them..Lol.
Can’t believe it was 37 years ago. Just back from there again tonight, and it was just like going to the swamp. Full of foreign tourists with cameras.
 
Not nice walking with the escort through Toxeth and can't say I enjoyed Anfield Road-glad those days are past as I can't run as fast now!
 
Walking down the middle of the road , whole families coming out of their houses and hurling abuse at us. Done in both legs by officials.

I was in the main stand for that game. The Scousers were claiming our following was only so big because we regarded playing them as our cup final. The amusing thing now is they really do believe playing us is the biggest final of the lot.
 
Our car load arrived only just in time for k.o. No mither for us.End of the game walked to the car no mither again ,Went into The Nettley Pub an Everton boozer, Darts night looads of grub on .Left at 1.30 Great night except for the result
 
went in car with another 3 walked to ground and we was sat in the stand opposite the main stand, don't know how we got seats there as we got them from city but there where 100s of city in there, and after game we walked back to car and away, so we didn't see any bother, infact only gobby fuckers we saw was a couple of utd fans when we stopped off for some fish and chips in north manchester

Said this yesterday I was there , yesterday they had a tarpolin 9 inches wide separating fans and stewards keeping fans apart back in the day that would have been ripped up and blood shed everywhere
 
great game, we nearly nicked it.

I said it yesterday at anfield, totally different in those days. As well as all the things mentioned on this thread, I remember it snowing that night and starting the singing of "im dreaming of a white Christmas, then the im dreaming of a blue Wembley"...…….

Atmosphere in a word LOUD.

The scousers next to us spent more time watching us than they did the game.
