Don’t think Donnarumma is as bad with his feet as he’s widely held to be.
I’d say he’s average with his feet. Don’t know if that will be enough for Maresca.
I get the sense he’s a big presence in the dressing room, and widely popular. His presence will be a factor in any evaluation.
Think he’ll probably get the nod, not sure what will happen with Trafford. Hope he stays, but can’t see it personally.
It is a thread because Maresca’s style has historically demanded more footwork than even Pep or Enrique. Not saying he will switch, but it would not come as a shock. Why is this thread? I would have thought it is Donnarumma?
He is pretty bad the main issue is he hesitates.Don’t think Donnarumma is as bad with his feet as he’s widely held to be.

I think Joe’s maybe a bit old now, although he wouldn’t be the only keeper to play into his 40s.New manager, new ideas. Even Pep says he regretted not giving Joe Hart a chance.
Who know how it will play out?

Saw the interview Walker did last week where he said he could never see the free man just couldn’t get it, but his speed and strength got him out of any trouble, think Donnarumma is the the same he just can’t see the pass so he hesitates then panics, like Walker doubt he ever will, plus his long passing are just punts always will be.He is pretty bad the main issue is he hesitates.
I agree with you. I think Walker could compensate with power and speed. Donna is one of the best if not the best stopper around but he is the weakness in our system due to how we play. Maresca might surpise us with some changes to accomodate him. However based on how he played with u-21s which Trafford played in. How he forced Hermansen and Sanchez to play I can sense a challenge too hard for Donna.Saw the interview Walker did last week where he said he could never see the free man just couldn’t get it, but his speed and strength got him out of any trouble, think Donnarumma is the the same he just can’t see the pass so he hesitates then panics, like Walker doubt he ever will, plus his long passing are just punts always will be.
Pep obviously thought his ability was worth that sacrifice, which surprised me ,maybe Maresca will too, which will surprise me again :)
And takes a very deep breath.Counts to 3 as i said.
Joe in the Scott Carson role might be worth a punt.I think Joe’s maybe a bit old now, although he wouldn’t be the only keeper to play into his 40s.
I'd go for Traff. I may be completely wrong, I just feel slightly more chilled when he plays. Both have strengths and weaknesses. Looking at that PSG gk last night though, I can't help but wonder why Luis rates him better than Gigio. There is no accounting for taste!!!,I think it has to be Trafford. Donnarumma is the better keeper just based on how good his shot stopping is but he doesn't fit the profile of a Maresca GK at all.
Quite interested to see how it all plays out.
Where did Raya slot in?Strange, I asked AI to pull all stats and opinions together and it had Donnarumma as top keeper (In Europe) most of the time, along with Neuer, Sommer, etc...
Nowhere was Trafford mentioned. WTF! How can that be?
Donna is only 27 and should have a good decade left on him.Probably The Don but, if James does stay I'd not be surprised if there's some proper rotation early doors.
It's a difficult one, GD is one of the top 2/3 keepers in the world, JT will be in that bracket I think very shortly and has age on his side too.
I'd maybe flog GD at the end of next season while he's still got a long enough contract to give us some decent money but, and it's a big but, that'd perhaps mean JT would be happy going on loan with a guarantee (that he's heard before) that he'd be number 1 in 27/28.
Perry Suckling? Martyn Margetson?Donna is the worst keeper I've seen at city, on crosses, in 56 years.
Immel?Perry Suckling? Martyn Margetson?
It was bad enough writing those two names.... I started to write his name but stopped short. It was too much to stare at those three names put together.Immel?
