Yeah, his goalscoring is a little inconsistent. One good season, one average, one good season, one average but he's a good player and would be much more capable of striking up a partnership with Kun than Dzeko has been able to, or than Gómez would be able to, in my humble.

Come to think of it, we are sitting in a bad spot right now after selling Tevez and Balotelli.

It seems as if we'll not be getting Cavani and Lewandowski who are arguably the only strikers on the market that are better than Tevez or Balotelli.

If we start fishing targets like Negredo, Soldado, Cardozo, Osvaldo etc we'll be forking out 15m-20m for a striker that we would be look to shift next season and start all over the whole process of buying a striker next summer.

Just putting two and two together mate. Spanish, he's talking about wanting to leave but only for a CL club. Seville president talking about his valuation. Profile wise he fits perfectly and arguably would be happier being a squad striker than some of the other names mentioned. If we do play with one up top, which I think we will, then it'll be difficult to find a top class player who'll be happy to sit on the bench in big games.

I'll be beyond chuffed if we sign Cardozo, as he's possibly my favourite player. He'd be a great option for 2 or 3 years, on the cheap so we can continue to look for a long term option over the next few years. He will score goals for fun in our team and is more than used to playing against parked buses for a technical passing team, so he should fit in pretty easily. Not to mention he has 9 goals in 11 games against English sides already.

Maybe if we judge them solely on their clinical finishing, but in no other aspect of being a footballer is Gomez better than Negredo.
