The wealthy Ligue 2 leaders are set for promotion this summer and have targeted the Premier League champions' pair to bolster their squad in a £35 million move
By James Goldman

Monaco will tempt Manchester City this summer with a stunning £35 million offer for Samir Nasri and Carlos Tevez.

The ambitious Ligue 2 leaders are vying for a return to the French top flight following their shock relegation in 2011 and, bankrolled by billionaire Dimitry Rybolovlev, are already making ambitious plans for next season which involve a double raid on the Premier League champions.

The Russian businessman, ranked the 93rd richest man in the world, is determined to put the former Champions League finalists back on the football map and rival the supremacy of fellow big spenders Paris Saint-Germain.

Monaco unsuccessfully attempted to lure Roberto Mancini to the principality last summer despite the offer of a £7 million-a-year contract but are more confident of prising Tevez and Nasri, both of whom are no longer automatic starters at the Etihad Stadium.

Rybolovlev’s fortunes render Monaco one of the few clubs in Europe who could comfortably match Tevez’s £198,000-a-week salary, while the ability to offer tax free salaries would also aid their attempts to prise two of City’s highest earners.

Tevez, 28, who has one year remaining on his current deal, has slipped behind Edin Dzeko in Mancini’s pecking order and spoke openly last month about his intention not to renew his current deal.

In an interview in Argentina, Tevez said: “I’ve got a year left on my contract at Manchester City and they want me to sign for two more seasons.

“I would prefer to return home, but it is very difficult because City won’t let me leave for nothing.

“I will stay in Europe for another two years and then go back.”

Tevez was absent from City’s 3-1 defeat at Southampton on Saturday that left their hopes of retaining their Premier League title in ruins, while after another subdued performance Nasri was substituted after 56 minutes.

Too good to be true.

So according to tomorrow's papers, City are willing to sell ( Tevez, Nasri & Dzeko )

Last week papaers, It was Aguero & Silva to Madrid.

Who is next ?

The top three City are willing to sell like you said.

The next two names are players another club WANT but City won't be willing to sell them.

I bet Tevez, Dzeko, Nasri, Kolarov, Sinclair, and Maicon will all be available to the highest bidder. And if we can actually get money for Tevez with 1 year left on his contract and his bloated wages we'd be mad not to take it.

Mirror again reporting that Real want Silva, and apparently Cavani and Bale. Do they even think while writing for f.cks sake?

We are being linked with Yuto Nagatomo in Italy (but so are United and Real). He would be a great replacement for Kolarov on lower wages, actually think he's a better player than Kolarov. Only 26, Japanese (possibly commercial benefits), and earns around £35,000/week at Inter so we wouldn't have to go over the top on wages like we did with Kolarov and others. Can also play as a winger and on the right hand side.

I'd say Kolarov's a better defender than him.

It looks like Inter wants to sell him and his agents are working hard to link him with other clubs. He is a midget, less than 170cm, I believe. He is not our PL material. Most Japanese players are physically inferior, they would struggle in our league.

No, no more selling till we get adequate replacements first. Last thing we want is a repeat of last summer window.

No more selling of players like Tevez and then failure to get someone like Cavani and we have to resort to last minute signings like Andy Carroll.
