Think we need to be careful what we wish for... yeah Platini is a cnut, and with his son working gor Qatar and involved with PSG it all looks very dodgy - however the Rags have been getting their people in position like fucking Hydra! We've got ex Rag board member Greg Dyke at the FA, but more worryingly Gill at UEFA who you can bet is just waiting to fill the void Platini would leave!

This , all day long ... but i suspect that even these figures are going to be irrelevant.... because the commercial forces working in world football are now workig at a scale an speed that has tripped up most of the old regime.. they hate it but are stuck with it...

The cockney rag old guard will fight a rear guard action, but the writing is on the wall for these protectionist tw@ts.... and they know it.....

Michel Platini, one of the most powerful men in world football, was on Monday night under pressure to explain a secret meeting with the man at the centre of the Qatar World Cup scandal.
The Telegraph has unearthed evidence that Mr Platini, a former leading French international and the president of Uefa, European football’s governing body, had a private discussion with Mohamed Bin Hammam, the controversial Qatari who paid millions of pounds to football officials around the world.

The stench that has been around Platini for years looks like it is finally being cleansed. How ironic that the leading advocate of the farce that is financial fair play should be facing such allegations.

Unfortunately it's FIFA and not UEFA
Platini is heavily implicated in the Qatar bid. It won't be long before his name is in the frame.

Not long at all!

What are you going to do when it all comes out?

But will 'it' all come out, whatever 'it' is?
UEFA have a notoriously big brush when it comes to sweeping allegations of wrongdoing under the carpet.
They are effectively a law unto themselves, and accountable to no one.
All they have to do here is refute the accusations, sit tight, and hope it all blows away, as it has done in the past, and then it's business as usual again.
A lot of folk will have vested interests in making damned sure the truth never sees the light of day here, as a whole Pandora's box of inducements, bungs or whatever emerging would destroy a lot of careers, and bring the whole house of cards crashing down.
I would imagine that some kind of contingency plan is in place to deal with the fallout - probably involving rubbishing the claims, discrediting the source, and so forth.
Platini and the rest didn't get where they are by being stupid, so it would be naive to think that they haven't covered their backs to deal with scenarios such as this.
I'm not trying to piss on anyone's parade here, but we have had these false dawns before, and the same sorry suits survived and prospered.
In short, I'll believe it when I see it, and wouldn't place any bets on those at the top strolling down to the jobcentre anytime soon.
