Why after today has Mancini lost the fans?

Have you read the threads about our players on here ? I agree we now have some real quality throughout the team but not sure we are quite yet good enough or moulded as a team to take Chelsea on toe to toe for 90 minutes on their own turf.

Admittedly it would have been better to watch but I'm not sure it would have resulted in a different outcome.

The key when planning for a match like today is to go for the strategy that gives you the best chance of getting some kind of a result and I think Mancini took the right approach. Not pleasingon the eye and was 12 minutes from coming off. It didn't. Sh*t happens, we move on positively to our next game.

" took the right approach" pmsl

We lost a game 2-0 which was there for the taking.

Therefore he took the wrong approach , like with every other big game he's lost for us.

If you can't open your eyes, that's fine, but keep your silly lectures to yourself .

There for the taking ? We were very close to what would have been a very good point. They scored from a set piece and one very late on. We had our chances. You do your fair share of "lectures" on here DD.

Ah,no,we were a bit "rusty" then. Not played enough.
And when we did it against utd at home there were the wrong kind of leaves on the pitch, the dog had eaten platt's tactics sheet

If you actually cared to look the rags played on the Tuesday that week we played on the Weds so with an extra days rest they probably were fresher than we were.

Do you think Abu Dhabi would have settled down in front of the telly today and thought that was acceptable for their/our team.If he plays the same way v rags and spuds he is a gonna.

Not sure where you're coming from, but we are in the top 4 and going to Wembley.

The players are tired and that affects their performance. We have been struggling to find our best form for some time.

Inevitable. Stop panicking and take a step back. We've got to a key point in the season and are well placed to achieve more than most expected at the start of the season

We were in the top 3 and Europe last week and we're going to wembley purely because of a money making racket.

No panic here,i've seen this coming for a good while, the simple fact is - we are not good enough to crack the top 3 and 4th place is seriously under threat.

Given the expenditure,i expected more at the start of the season not less.

Whose fault is it we don't have a squad capable of coping with the amount of games we have played?

It was a Wednesday night game ;-)

What has turned my head is the though of having Mourinho instead. If we do get the chance to get Mourinho then I'd take it on a plate, as would most fans, irregardless as to how this season ends.

However, if we can't get Mourinho as a replacement then I'd like to see him be given another year. This has by no means been a bad year and we always knew the hardest hurdle would be qulifying for the champions league.

This.

To the Bobby Out Brigade: He's going nowhere right now. For you to get your wish and to sack the manager would well and truly send our season to the dogs. We've just finished a period of 11 games in 36 days, and now we have an international break. Some out there today were quite clearly tired and although I don't necessarily agree with today's tactics you should at least reserve judgement on Mancini and the job he's done until the end of the season. At the moment we're 4th with a 4 point lead with a great chance of winning a major trophy. We've gone though a rocky patch recently but I fully expect us to bounce back after the international break.

the reasons are obvious and have nothing to do with the manager.

I have heard it all now!
After 75 mins I was getting hopeful of a point, but we lost a set-piece goal. Chelsea couldn't open us up.

If you've been going to the games recently you'll have seen that City have not been able to sustain any spell of good football for long, and have had to rely on strong defending, and isolated good moments of skill to get through games.

That's not down to the manager, it's down to too many games.

This is the business end of the season. This is what happens. Teams play below their potential because of the stresses. Chelsea were well rested, they've played very very little football over the last month
