Why are there NO openly Gay Footballers?

I actually dont even think there's that many gay players in the PL. I would be amazed if they would be above 5 and thats being generous. There are many reasons why someone gay would make it all the way to the top of football, most teens would give up football when they realize they like to get instead of give and just stay away from football

There´s of course a big grey zone also..Players that are bi-sexual for instance, or players that just prefer to keep their sexuality private whatever it is. Just look at actors..Does Bruce Willis mention that he have been involved in the BDSM scene for decades?

Because It's wrong.

If everybody was gay, There would be no humans left.

Please mods can we keep this one?

Just with your username and homophobic crap really makes me think I'm right in my decision to whilst abroad avoid cockneys like the plaque. I hear that twatting cockney whine and we sup up and leg it.

If I hear you fucking southern kunts shout "oi oi saveloy" whilst jumping in a pool I will fucking drown you. It's a German sausage FFS.

Worse than fucking scousers.

I agree with Tony. I have studied the PL for some time and have yet to see a player put his hand on his hip and waft his other hand whilst saying ooooooooh and then pursing his lips. I've seen plenty of players out and about and not one has had a chihuahua in a small bag. On that basis I would say quite confidently that there aren't many, if any, at all.

I think it may be that they don't like getting dirty. Or the late games that ESPN show on a Saturday would mean they didn't have long to get ready for a night in the village.

They're all ice skaters I reckon.

de gayer ?

I don't get this thing of calling David de Gea "de Gay", "de Gayer" or "the gay" or some such variant.

On the face of it, it doesn't seem like much, but when you think about why people do it, you can see why it could be offensive. It's a put down for a rival player, the insinuation being he's homosexual (because his name sounds a bit like one of the words for it, haha!) and it's being used as a stick to beat him with. As if being homosexual is something that's bad and makes him a worse footballer than someone else.

What actually does that is his inability to deal with crosses and his general hit-or-miss attitudes when it comes to shots you'd expect him to save.

I don't for a minute think people are being homophobic when they use those nicknames. I don't think people intend to cause offence, but as a gay man who plays football, I'd want to be judged on my ability (or lack thereof) and not my sexuality. I'm crap because I'm a right footer with two left feet, not because I fancy men.
