Why are we always so poor against Klopp’s Liverpool?

Played 9, won 2, drew 1 and lost 6 against Klopp’s Liverpool. What are the reasons? Klopp is the only manager who seems to know how to beat Pep and has quite a good record against him. Is it only because of an immense high-pressing that Liverpool apply when they play us? Does this mean our players aren’t good enough on the ball to get out of high-pressure? I don’t believe it has anything to do with an atmosphere etc. In the second half we were a lot better because Liverpool sat deep and allowed us to have time on the ball. That’s what 95% of teams do when they play us, they don’t press us at all. Was Pep’s Barca the only team who could get out of high pressure against a top top opposition using tiki taka?

One win at Anfield in 37 years... it’s nowt to do with Klopp

We beat them 5-0 at our place early doors

I don't think it's specifically Klopp's Liverpool, although Guardiola clearly struggles against him in personal duels. We always struggle at Anfield. Our record there is absurdly bad and crosses numerous generations and players. One of those things I guess. Would love to see us bury that hoodoo at some point though. If we can do it at Old Trafford there's no real reason why we can't at Liverpool.

Aren’t as good on the ball as everyone thinks. Pep’s Barcelona team could resist the press because of Busquets, Xavi and Iniesta and actually because every player was comfortable on the ball.
Look at this City team, which outfield player apart from Silva is really comfortable on the ball to resist pressing? Laporte is comfortable but played in the wrong position. All the players panicked when on the ball tonight. Even Pep’s Bayern team had world class players who were brilliant on the ball.

Fernandinho has been BRILLIANT this season but in games likes this, his lack of confidence on the ball will show which is why Casemiro starts ahead of him for Brazil.

Liverpool have a habit putting in all their heart and soul in the big games but also burn themselves out in the process. The trick is not to give them any encouragement (something we are not good at) during the opening period of the game.

its not just klopps liverpool, its every liverpool team for the last 40 years
But we've been pretty shite for the vast majority of that time though
What is baffling is that since we were good from the Mancini era, we still are generally poor when we play Liverpool, although it does seem that if we play against them early season we have a better chance of winning

Pep is brilliant and we are lucky to have him but he will not learn against this lot, the league doesn’t matter because we twat pretty much every othe4 team home and away. Drawing Liverpool was a nightmare in a cup comp. he fucked up
