There is nothing better scenario for a high pressing team like Pool getting their approach rewarded by early goal or goals. In a big game like this a quick goal just proves them right, proves their strategy is working and paying off which gives them extra energy to do it mentally as well.
But there is a mental element to this as well as desire, extra workrate otherwise how the fuck they won so many second balls? When there is a cross from us they head it out without looking where and the ball ends up at a Pool player.
Or there is a goal kick, someone heads it and the ball ends up for Liverpool.
They make a shot, Otamendi blocks the ball comes back to a Pool player after a bit of fight for the ball.
We have a corner they clear it and a quick counter from it from them...
If winning second balls would be random it should be 50-50% between teams. I bet Pool tonight won majority of them.
We lost so many of these little fight for the ball. The were quicker, wanted the ball more, they were agressive as well to get it.
These are mental things not tactical ones.
And we have seen this happening at Anfield way before Pep as well and since then as well.
Klopp learnt more from previous games than Pep did. He conceded 5 then won 4-3 but still conceded 3, tonight he got a clean sheet with us 0 shots on target.
We were asking why Pool fans and experts bringing up that 4-3 loss so much but forget about the 5-0 like that doesnt matter? Klopp took the positives from the 4-3 and corrected the negatives of it (defending) and he beat us 3-0.
