Why are we so suspect to counter attacks?

It was a big problem in Pep’s first season but the following two years we pretty much cut them out all together. Now in the last 18 months we’re so much more open too them.. what’s the reason? Tactics? Lack of pressing? Personnel?
Unusual thread title. Which club do you support?

The best (and most honourable) cheat in the business is 35 and injured so unable to break up the play by illegally stoping the break 16 times per game whilst somehow looking innocent yet ever so serious whilst still never get carded.

can I just reiterate that Fern is one of my favourite players and that this was a positive post. However, he has to be one of the best ever players at bending the rules on breaking up an attack. He is wonderful at it.

They showed a graphic on Sky at half time of both teams "average position" on the pitch, all of spurs were in their own half, other than Dias and Laporte all our were in their half, and those 2 were pretty much on the half way line, when you play that way, you're one shoddy pass/mistake from a one on one with your keeper.

It's actually quite simple to see why.

Playing a far too high line with a plodding Rodri or Gundogan protecting the back line means we're susceptible to one long ball over the top.

Its suicide yet Pep hasnt figured it out, doesnt anticipate a team will pack the defence and hit it long nor takes action during a game to stop it.

But we played like this for two years when we was brilliant and we get them out. We don’t seem too press like we used too. Not sure if it’s fitness or they can’t be arsed
