Why did we let Zinchenko go?

Why did we let Zinchenko go?....

- Because he wanted to leave
- Because we couldn't guarantee him a place in the first XI
- Because the transfer money we received was more than fair
- Because we didn't want to pay him what Arsenal pay him
- Because he wasn't actually a left-back

There's no point complaining about it. Zinchenko will be forever loved by all of us at City. He's a great guy (I've spoken to him a couple of times), a very good footballer, and a City legend!

If Arsenal pips us to the Premier League, it won't be because they signed Zinchenko, it will be because we haven't performed and we've had many injuries that have disrupted our back line.

The legend and leader Ferna as he is, was well past his sell by date for his last two seasons with us. Revisionism is not only about Zinny.

Its not revisionist to say he was as good a leader from the sideline as he was on the pitch. Just his calming presence in the dressing room we miss (imo of course)

Because we make mistakes in the transfer market from time to time.
It wasn't even a mistake... we made a huge profit on a squad player. Just because he's gone and performed well at a new club doesn't mean we've 'lost'. It was just a brilliant deal for ourselves, Arsenal, and Zinchenko. No losers, just three winners.

You could argue the players we've brought in to replace him have been mistakes, but letting Zinny go was the right decision. As was Jesus and Sterling's departures.

Is it just me or is he playing / doing the EXACT same thing he did while he was here? if so, how come no one noticed how he was "re-inventing" the leftback role until he left City?
