Why do vets charge so much?

They ended up giving me something for motion sickness and something to make him sleepy so he was a bit out of it before I put him in the car.
He usually always throws up (motion sickness) and has crapped and pissed (fear because he knows what's coming) in his carrier before.
He usually cries throughout the 3 1/2hr drive but this time he was o.k.
I guess the meds worked.
Whenever he sees me packing my travel bag he goes into hiding : (
Aww bless him , merlin always knows we are going to the vets if i keep him in , he also smelt the carrier that i got out of the spare room but hid in the halway , he cried for ten mins and was trying to get out of closed windows , once in the carrier he goes quiet and is very still when the vet examines him , breaks my heart the whole thing

Just spent an hour sorting out merlins insurance , went through money supermarket and went with the co op, lifetime £5000 limit £175 excess £14 a month as there is no interest added on for dd

Guess that is ok , my current provider shouldnt have been greedy cunts with their renewal price

Fucking minefield it is , given me a headache !
