Why haven’t Manchester City become the "super club" they should be?

If rags had a thread like this on the caff we'd be ripping into it with words like ''arrogant'' and ''entitled'' being banded around.

Couldn't agree more, I've only done the title and the OP (not the link) and I can't stand to read any more.

Not sure what all the fuss is we are clearly now one of Europe's super clubs we only need the trophies to back it up.

Can't agree with that at all sorry.

I do have some sympathy with this.
I very much remember feeling things were against us but we were usually good enough to take the referees out of the equation.
Whether it was measurably worse than this year I can't be certain but Marvin's assertion is no too far off the mark IMHO.

Edit - sorry for bad use of quotes. Should have included Marvin's post as well!

To answer the topic title question...

We should NOT be anything.
I don't expect anything from supporting City.
It's my club and that's that... And I'm sure many Blues feel the same.

We should be world beaters?
Hell no...

The business men behind the club expect financial results and to which they are getting them (as I'm lead to believe)

Yes I want my club to be successful, but it isn't expected... Doesn't matter if we bought Messi and Neymar tomorrow... Nothing is guaranteed!!
There's supporting City because it's in your blood, but there's also objective criticism of our progress since we won our last title and every fan is entitled to that. And we haven't bought well despite restrictions of financial fair play. This Summer is the first for a few seasons where I think that we have added 3 quality players to our squad, but it has gone so far that that alone was not good enough to turn us around.

When I first started supporting City around 84 I could never imagine City could win a trophy never mind become a Super club!
