Why is our Gate and Matchday Income half Liverpools?

Corporate hospitality.
I have heard that said too. But we make the same at the gate as Villa according to the Guardian's analysis. Chelsea down as taking nearly 4 x what we take. Must be something wrong with the data

Maybe with FFP just round the bend someones cooking the Anfield books..

A gate that over the season is some two or three thousand LESS brings in TWICE the money. Don't think so! I can smell the books burning!

It's not a true like for like comparison , apparently we account for hospitality under commercial revenue our like for like matchday revenue woul be £34m

Appologies for the link...

So they are on 42 and us 34, but we've got a champions league campaign in there.
That will have been comfortably offset with getting to both cup finals, they were at home all the way through the FA Cup

The £22 Million figure seems very low.

However outsourcing may explain some of the difference.

Let's hope the club increase ticket prices, force us to buy cup tickets and offer no discounts for cup games. God forbid one of the wealthiest men in the world should try to help out.
Sorry mate, I forgot to add. The sheikh might be one of the wealthiest men in the world but he's in it for himself and his family, not Billy Bingo from Gorton.

They'll keep some tickets low for PR reasons but ultimately most prices will rise steadily until we are where they will deem we should be: ahead of Liverpool and toe to toe with the rest of the champs league clubs.

Maybe, but It depends on how they priced their fa cup games. We always charge top dollar for regular tickets and hospitality for the CL but much less for the cup. And we had some money spinning domestic cup ties ourselves, including a united game and a league cup quarter and semi final

I think they price theirs similar to us, and they had similar ties (United and us at home + 3 Wembley matches).

Our match day tickets might be right up there but our season tickets are still very well priced even if they are on the up each year and undoubtedly the best value for money in the league.

The Arsenal Qtr had very cheap tickets £10 or £20 depending on tier, and Liverpool got the same as us for the semi receipt wise.

Liverpool's sum probably includes prize money also.
