Why is there always something wrong?

Doesn't matter whether it's Liverpool, Everton, Chelsea that we lose to. Unless we win by about 4 clear goals people come on here and totally over-react. Just because we've spent a lot of money on players doesn't give us the God given right to steamroller everyone we play. When they cross that line, it's 11 v 11 and transfer fees, reputations and wages don't mean anything. It's the wonder of football that a pub team like Everton can get a result against us. Yes, the referee was fucking awful and I'm as pissed off about this as everyone. But the "Bring in Mourinho"," "I'm gonna set fire to myself if we don't win the league," "bring back Tevez" threads are fucking embarassing and what I thought I'd expect from other clubs. Clearly we're just as bad now.

We need to improve our away form starting at Villa. 5pts from 18 with only 3 goals scored in the last 6 league games away is not good enough.

I haven't once over reacted or posted on here in a panic, but I am really starting to worry about these decisions going against us all the time. I'm not too confident that we will win the league any more.
We defo wont if the officials carry on the way they are.

Everton have lost five games at home this season and my mole down at Goodison tells me that nigh on the whole five were against the dross of the league. I can cope with any reverse, I take it on the chin, I get knocked down and get up again, dust myself off and look for the bastard who did it! But on each occasion I am left with a similar question - In their pomp, would The Dippers, The Arse, CFC or MANUre have lost to a mediocre BlueDipper/Blackcat/CFC team full of geriatics and journeymen?

Yes they would, it's called top flight football. United during their pomp years would lose to teams they shouldn't have. I remember Southampton beating them a few times! And do you not remember the year we stopped Chelsea from being invincible?

Honestly, the way some fans go on about a defeat because the opposition aren't as good as us on paper is ridiculous. We might as well not play football and just decide at the start of the season who has the best team and do the league on paper.

Because some people can be reactionary idiots on here.

Don't get me wrong, tonight wasn't good but too many people expect us to win every game and throw their toys out when we don't.

Everton away was never going to be easy, but we need to improve fast. We're still top going into February with a reasonable run of fixtures ahead though.

Time for calm heads.

Yes and history will tell you that... We beat a few of those when they were in their pomp?!

correct but you only do that by having confidence in your ability, trust in your team mates and able to enjoy the game. You can only do that if us the fans stay behind the team at all times and dont panic with the odd bad result. We are on the run in to what could be the most glorious day in most of our life times. Relax get prospective and enjoy our wonderful team.

It's all a bit simplistic, this discussion.

To start panicking and fretting too much after results like West Brom, Bayern, Napoli can be construed as kneejerk: every team had bad luck or doesn't play well from time to time.

Tuesday's result was a bit different to this. It was a poor performance in a run of patchy performances. It was a clear demonstration that workmanlike teams can squeeze us out. And the body language around the club frightened a lot of people. WE didn't look like Champions, we looked like a team who could choke.

Having said that, the ball didn't run for us first half, and there were more poor decisions, and it was a lucky equaliser. We are certainly not in a bloody crisis, but alarm bells are ringing for some people.

A run of form is badly, badly needed.

Exactly. Try and enjoy it. I don't remember reading about people killing themselves when we were shit so why are we acting like it's the end of the world when we lose a match now? If you can't enjoy it now, then football is the wrong sport for you.
