Why is there not a statue of Yaya?

Amazing player for us, but not even close to being in the same category as Vinnie, Kev, Silva and Serg.

One of the non-negotiable criteria for having a statue should be a minimum of 10 seasons playing time at the club before anything else is taken into account. A little like an old school testimonial.
That might sound harsh and some legendary players may miss out but it’s the ultimate accolade and needs to have a strong degree of exclusivity to avoid bitter debate on who is and isn’t worthy.

It takes more than the performance on the pitch to gain a statue and Yaya let himself down off the pitch to a big extent especially allowing his motor mouth agent free reign he also accused Pep of not lacking African players and effectively being a racist He also didn't do 10 years
Loved him as a player and he was there in all the important moments, as Vinny said during his tribute speech to him the answer was always Yaya Toure

Absolutely fantastic player came across as a bit of a twat as a bloke.
Like George drunken late fir training absent from matches Best ..

Or Wayne granny shagger Rooney or Christian I love myself Ronaldo

Point is footballers are often "twats' off the pitch just like fans can be
ordinary folk
It's what they do on the pitch that counts and makes them legends

Yaya Toure was the greatest ever player I saw play the game the bravest the most audacious two footed multi talented athlete.....and he broke the heart of utd players management and fans....a leader of Men.

Legend.
Statute please
That is all.

Well not quite .....for a twat of a bloke
His ability to learn and speak 7 different languages to further his professional football career across the globe marks him down as a very special determined person

I wouldn't dream of calling him a twat
In person.. or in print.

and fir the poster taking the piss out of our great ex players grasp of English language....unbelievable.
How many languages do you speak u twat ? ; )

That adds a different perspective but there was other stuff. I prefer to remember those changes with 15 minutes to go when Mancini would put a centre back on and pushed Yaya up the pitch which would confuse the commentators until he scored the inevitable winner. He doesn’t need a statue, he left enough good memories during an exciting time to be a blue.

Now Mancini deserves a statue

I can’t recall anyone those three ever speaking disrespectfully about United when they were at the club. I recall Best slagging Tommy Docherty off a long time after he left the club, but that’s not the same.

Absolutely loved Yayas on pitch antics, immense player. Could win a game on his own and all the other players knew it. He made it look so easy in midfield, like a pedigree racehorse running through a herd of Shetland ponies. However his ego was also huge and his sense of entitlement did him zero favours alongside his agents gob. For that, The mosaic at the training ground was probably the right level of thanks off the club.

The 3-0 win at OT. He bullied them. Took them to the cleaners.

You’ll have to take a chainsaw to the Bell Lee Buzzer statue.

Footballers are not often shit off the pitch wtf. Footballers dont usually go making racist comments about managers. Thats not normal tbh.
