Why is there not a statue of Yaya?

Statues...? Waste of time and money.

Memories are more important.

Yaya Toure is still the King. The best player I've seen in a City shirt in my 70 years.

I don't give a shit if he had four great seasons or four great matches for City, Yaya was simply the greatest player we've ever had. A fucking colossus, a monster of a player.

The only players of the modern era that come close to Yaya Toure are Sergio Aguero and Carlos Tevez.

All you wet bastards whinging over the cake and 'racist' issues need to get a life. Appreciate true greatness. Yaya is the King.
Are you seriously rating Tevez over David Silva and KDB, come on man, ffs

Because he was a twerp

Gullible to his agent.
Tantrums (see Tevez, too)
Sulky
Thought it was all about him

Fucking brilliant player, though.
The 50 yard run in the rain v Villa remains one of my favourite City goals, along with the Sunderland LCF .

10 times a year. The rest of the time he was wank. Fernandinho's workrate made him look like a world beater. Before that, he was often disgraceful.

Such a shame because he elevated the club immediately after joining. One of my favourite ever players and arguably the best all-round midfielder I’ve seen. Definitely top 5.

But he was a petty prick with the cake fiasco straight after we’d won a domestic double and he’d have the season of his life.

Fucking no cake on your birthday?! Have a word.

Shame.

Yaya carried the team when it mattered. The best. The King.

Rose tinted glasses mate. Even you didn't think that at the time. Did he carry us at Madrid when he watched their entire midfield break on us and he randomly jogged instead of sprinting, watching their entire team flood past him?

He was supremely talented, there's no question. His application defensively though was, when he was being a mard arse, a disgrace.

You get weird takes on this forum from time to time. That one the other day, for instance, about Toure contributing more on the field than Silva, Aguero and Kompany.

Yaya's greatness isn't about how much he contributed, it's about how he made truly great things happen.
Take Yaya out of the equation and we win a lot less than we have. He's the King. The best of the best.

So why did that poster bang on about Toure having contributed more than the 3 players mentioned? And no; Toure wasn't the best of the best.

Football is all about opinions Jim. You know that as well as I do.
I've been lucky enough to witness live many of the world's greatest players of the last 65 years... the likes of Maradona, Cruyff, Best, Ronaldo, Messi, etc. As for witnessing absolute 'stellar' performances over those years, I've not seen many players who have impressed me more than peak Yaya Toure.

The best I've ever seen in a City shirt.

We'll have to agree to disagree. And I'm not going to argue all night about, and be guilty of what I try to nip in the bud on here. Namely, disagreements that drag on over several posts. So, I'll leave it at that.

You are correct though.
Never the best of the best.

His play on the field merits a statue.

Scored the goals that broke the trophy drought. Was fantastic against the Scum and then the brace against Newcastle leading up to the title. Had a few seasons where, imo, he was the best midfielder in the prem.

It's his actions off the field, and how he left things, that are preventing it.

He crossed a few lines publicly, and who knows what went on behind closed doors. Many of the people involved, most obvious Pep, are still with the club.
