Losing Isco was an amateur move. Someone on another forum correctly wondered how city let the u21 tournament start without tying him up. The tournament increased his value and attracted Madrid.
Also your overall (overall) eam is progressivelying getting worse. Replacing Tevez and Adam Johnson with inferior players and not replacing Balotelli are examples of that.
So, how do you compete with Real Madrid? And a supposed €10m bung to Isco's dad?
To take it to the wire shows how far we've come as a force.
As for Tevez, he wanted out, was on silly money, saving us £27m that we could reinvest in a player who wants to be at City, shame he's gone, but football is as much about business, as it is football these days, especially with the FFP magnifying glass focused on us.
Adam Johnson was never the same after his injury, before, he was a breath of fresh air for us and England, and it was a shame he never recaptured that scintillating form, there were reports that the success went a bit to his head, and liked a bit of a drink.
The loss of these players, and weakness in other areas is being addressed, I'd argue that Navas is a definite upgrade on AJ, and his performances for Spain in the ConFed, and last season in LaLiga, where he provided the most goal scoring chances backs that up.
Fernandihno provides cover and support for Yaya, who showed fatigue at times last season, Negrado is a quality striker, his ability to link up with Navas will hopefully provide an instant rapport upfront, Navas and Silva are team mates for Spain, another instant rapport.
I'd argue that Pellegrini is addressing our weaknesses, and applying a considerable amount of thought, I'm happy with our signings, and can't argue the worth of spending silly money on Cavani, when FFP, and the alternative of Negrado who has an automatic understanding with Navas standing in the way at half the price.
