Why the hate for Adebayor?

im not going to read this thread but i will add, i for one RESPECT him , hes been to hell and back, and come out smilling, anyone whos ever been in a war zone and servived will know what i mean, the guy should be honnoured not lambasted, come on guys how many of you would have thrown in the towel?

so if he has a lazy season again but doesnt miss the games, then next season we can expect a 20 goal haul, not to mention half those games under Hughes we were trying to play like wimbledon, pass around the back then lump it because Adebayor happens to be a tall chap.

I would be more than happy starting next season with Ade & Tevez, the areas we need more strength are further back, Central Midfield and defence.

A full season of Tevez Adebayor with an improved midfield that can create and move forward would result in at least 50 goal between them.

A lot of the experts on this forum say Barry can't play with DeJong, well I feel the same about Tevez and Adebayor. Carlos best period was when ade was in africa. Ten goals in 7 games and he also scored 6 more goals in the other 9 games ade missed. I personally feel it will be one or the other playing next year, with somebody else, hopefully Torres.

Wayne Bridge has been without a doubt the main scapegoat for City fans (myself included). However making Bridge a scapegoat is justified, with Adebayor it's not.

With good reason unfortunately. I was watching espn and the reporter was quoting stats and said that wayne bridge had the worst crossing record in the league. He made 47 crosses, none of them connecting.

Ade hasn't done badly considering what he's been through. If he starts banging them in next season I doubt I'll hear anybody complaining.

He can finish and has ability but he's not what we need. Has no backbone at all, instead of testing the centre halves, using his physique and looking to get in on goal, he shies away, drifts out wide and spends most the og a match on it's periphery.

Its odd that there seems to be this stigma attached to him that hes lazy and cant be assed. 14 goals in 26 starts in his first season with us considering his difficulties is pretty damn good to be honest. I swear supporters would rather fuckin players like Claudio Reyna back here, "AT LEAST HE PUT A FUCKIN SHIFT IN". Sorry lads but I have never seen Samuel Eto'o doing laps from one end of the pitch to another. Unfortunately for Ade I think his lank body shape immediately leads to people saying "HES LAZY" etc when in fact he probably runs as many K's as any other striker. Really fuckin pisses me off at the moment actually.

has anyone got any stats on that would like to see if your theory stands up could be interesting?

Man I would be bummed hard if city fans drove ade away. Great forward, just needs the mid fielders. If were getting him chances I think he will score more than last season and be a solid big man.

It would be foolish to let him go, he's a top player and has had a pretty eventful season. I think he will do well next season.

Maybe its something to do with the £100K plus everyweek in his paypacket

Decent player but not right for us. Not a team player. Can't win a header when he's the only one going for it, never mind when he's challenged (you have to hope Given/Hart will learn). Gives the ball away an incredible amount of time. Can't think of any of his goals outside of Blackburn away that any average prem striker wouldn't have scored. Can think of lots of times when a decent prem striker would have scored but Ade didn't, penalty area positioning isn't his game.

Wish people wouldn't get on his back - but to finish as I started - he's not right for us. Not his fault though, he is decent - just in his own way.
