so question- why do people hate city? Bluemoon answer- 'because we're so brilliant and they're jealous' the only reason I get annoyed by City is the exact same reasons that alot of you throw at spurs. Undue arrogance, the feeling you've a right to be in the top 4, before the games with us last year you all went on about how you hated us and wanted to teach us a lesson and how we're dicks etc etc. What all because of some goal in 1981? City are a great club but the arrogance of some of your fans since the influx of money have let you down. The assumption that all the top starts in the world wanna come and play for you, that you'll def win the league soon, maybe this year. Etc etc, people resent this kinda talk cause it takes most clubs years to build up this kinda status.

I'm not disagreeing with you. I find some of the attitudes from City fans cringeworthy these days. I'm an old school fan, pleasantly surprised we find ourselves in a position where we can probably win something, but it is not guaranteed.

A few weeks ago I was sitting in the pub watching City play Salzburg and a friends son came in and sat down with me, and at half time we started to have a natter, and his hatred of Spurs was a genuine surprise to me. I asked him why he hated Spurs so much, because I really don't have anything other than a neutral feeling for Spurs, and he started going on about the Cup Final defeat in 1981, when he wasn't even born.

I was at the final, I don't really bother that much about Spurs, and here was a lad, aged 22, not getting why I don't hate Spurs.

It's a strange world, and I don't pretend to understand it's workings, but I am genuinely at a loss to understand our supposed hatred of Spurs.
