Why The Hell Would Anyone Want Mancini Sacked ?

I'd love the above to be the case mate, however, something appears to be missing and i don't think Mancini can supply it.

He can start, and will do himself no harm,by picking the best available 'team' on Saturday.

Absofuckinglutely. Couldnt be a tougher game for us off the back of that yesterday, time to sort the wheat from the chaff.

Teams have sussed us out - We play narrow - they keep people wide, press and counter down the flanks -

24 points from 10 matches before the derby, that works out to 91 points a year. And we could easily have beaten United yesterday, if teams have sussed us it hasn't been very effective.

If we are going off statistics, it's 24 from 11, which is heading for 83 points... i.e. not enough.

But it's not about statistics. Its about how come a team of such immense talent is having to come from behind relying on late winners from Dzeko to rescue some points. We might *easily* be 5 or 6 points worse off had we not pulled off last minute winners at Spurs, West Brom and Fulham. So you could say we are lucky to be heading for 83 points. It could have been a whole lot worse.

And it really should not be like this with a stable squad with the talent they have and a manager who's been here 3 years.

83 points is room for improvement, but it doesn't indicate we've been sussed. And it doesn't indicate that things are as bad as people are making out.

This was posted in a thread earlier. It includes CL games and CC games. Obviously we haven't played exactly the same teams home and away etc as this stage last season, but being basically half way through the season I think it is a fairly good barometer of where we are. We have played the majority of the teams in the league now, once.

The fact we have won half as many games as last season says it all really. This shows that we are nowhere near the level we were last season, and nowhere near the level we should be. Like people have said, it depends on how we react from this defeat, but I don't think we can really afford to have another slump. Let 5 points out of a possible 12 be our slump. You have to say, this last few weeks was what we said at the start of the season was our first major test. Chelsea away, Everton at home and United at home in the space of 4 league games. Last season that saw us with 6 points, this season it's seen us take 2.

We haven't come out of the first 'test' of the season particularly well. If you look at United in the big games, they are winning them, Liverpool away, us, Chelsea away, Arsenal. At the moment, when we are facing a good team, we aren't winning.

We didn't deserve to lose yesterday, but we did lose. Mancini needs to get the players morale back up (Silva said after the Real game how the morale in the team has dropped) and get us back to playing to the best of our ability, and turning up when it matters.

Well Pep likes to play with creative midfielders yes, but look at Barca how they used to press their opponent high up the pitch. That is vwhere Barca defending starts with Messi, Villa, Sanchez, Iniesta pressing the defenders as soon as they lose the ball...

If Nasri/Balo would do that kind of lazy nothing sometimes he does under Mancini then Pep would fuck him out of the club.

He even put Yaya on the bench for a more disciplined Busquets.
Busquets is a better holding player than Yaya. Yaya has to contend with Xavi and Iniesta for a place.

I can see why Pep didn't choose him on that basis, his wages were a key too.

I'd have thought going out of the CL would have been the perfect opportunity to show a reaction....oops just reaslised I've quoted the wrong post!! Replying to the one about waiting to see the reaction from Bobby and the team this Saturday..

CL failures are hard to explain.

Last year we were in such hot form in the league before/during/after CL matches. Still in CL our only 3 wis came against a Bayern reserve and a relegated Villarreal team. When we faced not reserved or relegated sides we did not win.
This year the same we faced only one reserve side aainst Dortmund we lost that too.

No wins against Napoli or Ajax. No one from Ajax would be a guaranteed starter at City and maybe only Cavani would start regurlarly at City from Napoli.

Also we cant compare the managers Frank de Boer led his team in CL 3rd time and Mazzari had a debut in CL as a manager.
Mancini was in it 6th time last year.

(Klopp second time only this year.)

Our team isn't that good, Erikson and Alderwield would walk into our team from Ajax and Lavezzi, Hamsik and Inler would have all walked into our team from Napoli last season.

However I do agree with the gist of what you are saying on paper we have a better team than all the sides we have faced in the CL apart from Real and possibly Bayern.

Also Napoli, Ajax and Dortmund have shown exactly what you can achieve when playing a formation that all the players suit and are used to.

As always,stats aren't needed,the eyes are enough.

Its crystal,we're a shadow this year.

We're not at our best, but no team plays at it's best for a whole season.

There were times last season when it looked like we had lost the ability to win away

I don't think I've seen a better 45 mins from a City team for a long time. Silva was magnificent - except in front of goal. Everyone was flying. Pick it up from there and we will be OK

We're not at our best, but no team plays at it's best for a whole season.

We are half way through the season now, and we are yet to really play well.

We haven't succeeded in any 'test' we have faced this season.

Liverpool away- Tough place to go, so I am happy with a draw, and it's what we got last year, but......United won there, so it can be done

Stoke away- again, very tough place to go, but yet another draw there, we should be good enough to improve on consistent draws at Stoke. So, again, not a bad result, but not a fantastic one.

Arsenal- won last year, drew this year- shocking performance in that game

Everton- won last year, drew this year- it seems, apart from one game, Mancini hasn't really worked out how to play against everton

United- played well in the second half, won last year, lost this year.....

Chelsea- actually improved on last years result, so obviously can't have any complaints there. SHould we have gone for it more though..??

Now I am NOT saying all these are bad results, far from it. Equally, I understand we have gone to WBA, Fulham, Sunderland at home and bettered our results of last season, so that should be pointed out, BUT, I have highlighted key games above, where we have been tested, the games that at the start of the season you would look at and say it's a tough game, but we should be looking to win. It's these tough games and tough periods that can separate the champions from the runners up (not every season I know), but can you honestly say we have come through any of those 'tests' with flying colours. Or have we come through our first tough period well...??

We're not quite half way through the season yet and we have already had some excellent performances.

We're roughly on a par with matching our results from last season (maybe 2 points behind), if we can maintain that par we'll win the league again.

No need to rush into judgement, we all expect improvement over the course fo the season and if that doesn't happen their will be consequences I'm sure.
