He isnt competing with those two because he is someway short of their ability and class.

The majority of players we brought in would have complimented a lower to mid table team only, not defending Champions, although they are on contracts that say otherwise......

Mario should have been sold earlier,Bobs stubborn insistence he wasn't a balloon who didnt give a shit cost us the opportunity.

Dzeko has never suited our set up and Mancini has handled him very poorly.
Have you followed Balotelli at all since he went to AC Milan. He was scoring in every game, and the goals have only stopped since he was suspended

Nastasic is a top drawer player, and should have been in the YPOY nominations.

Garcia is in the Spanish National Squad. In many ways I prefer him to Barry and Yaya in that deep role. Yaya is fantastic going forward with the ball at his feet but isn't very good at closing down, whilst Barry is a great passer and covers a huge amount of ground, but defensively I don't think he is as good as Garcia. Garcia is back in the Spanish National Squad and their midfield is possibly the best International midfield ever so I don't understand your views at all.

Possibly right about Dzeko. He's gone downhill. No arguments there

I don't want to turn this into a Garcia thread but all this 'he's in the squad' does he ever actually get on the pitch? And to be honest, Cleverly, Wellbeck, Cahill and lots of other average to shit players get in their national squads, it may not be that they rate him that highly. I think its more like Del Bosque can't be arsed flying to watch the useless twat so would rather Garcia fly to meet him so he can see his 'qualities' in training

Back on topic - Whatever happens Mancini has won the first major trophies for City in my lifetime and I will never forget that. If he stays we need to back him in the transfer market, unless of course he was the one who wanted these players then in that case let someone else do the buying

Garcia has 1 cap, a friendly against Serbia. No competitive appearances yet.

It's nice that he got called up by Spain but like with defenders Spain doesn't have a HUGE wealth of holding midfielders. You have the tall holding midfielder category he would fall into with Busquets and Martinez, then the creative holding midfielders like Alonso and Benat. After those four and Garcia, who is left? Camacho at Malaga is a good youngster but unlike Spain's endless wealth of attacking midfielders there isn't so much to choose from in the holding department. So it's not too surprising he gets called up sometimes, every country calls up the 4th/5th/6th choice players every now and then (look at how many Brazilians have been capped - even Glauber Berti got one!).

LOL! You've missed all the fun mate.

Evening Col..I shouldn't be here until Thursday but Ric allowed me back on appeal!
Can you give me a brief resume...Or is just the same old suspects???
It was getting a bit boring so I've been generating some alternative viewpoints for debate.

Yep,which is why i posted what i did.......i never said he wasn't talented.

Transfers - i said the majority.

Garcia may well have been included in a Spanish squad but he would get no where near the pitch and they must have been scraping their barrell for a defensive option. For a team like ours,he is shocking.

Mancini's a bottler now... Comedy gold.
There's a quote from Ibrahimovic to prove it. What more do you want?
No, there is a quote from Ibra who is a known egotistical, flat track bully.

We can argue about Mancini all day long but ANY manager that finishes a game with Kolarov, Dzecko, Sinclair on the pitch and Lescott as a forward is gonna struggle.

I know he bought 3 of those but I don't think anyone having watched Kolarov and Dzecko for their first 6months with us could have seen such a decline coming.

As for Sinclair, Garica and Maicon, no wonder we are 13 points behind, those 3 are shit

I suppose what I'm getting at is although Mancini has made mistakes on and off the field he's been bloody successful on it so I fell a lot of criticism is way over the top.

I think he might call it a day at the end of the season, lots of managers abroad tend to go from job to job, the Ferguson, Wenger, Moyes model is pretty rare. I would say to the 'outers' be careful what you wish for. I couldn't give a shit who the manager is as long as City are successful, from reading some posts on here over the last few months i don't think the same can be said for some of the outers

No, no, no. No he isn't. He's a safety first player who plays safe passes and looks to pass on responsibility to another player, be it Barry or Yaya. He is is slow and he isn't made for this league. He'll do a job in European games or when we close games out but as a starter he's a no no because he simply adds little to the team other than an aerial threat in set pieces. Compare him to REAL top players like Alonso, De Rossi, Busquets, Khedira etc and he's found wanting.

No offence Marvin but I really find it hard to take your comment serious. you have to be taking the piss, surely?

A fading 32 year old Barry even has his number and Barry isn't even one of the top players in the world in his position so how you work Garcia out as a top operator is beyond me. You can say he got called up to NT but that was more Del Bosque having a look at him, Martinez, Buquets and Alonso will all be ahead of him. He will never be a regular starter for Spain, heck he'd do well to make the bench!

You actually believe that don't you?

Hahahahahahaha. Fucking hell. Jesus Christ. Un-be-lieve-able!

Barry is better defensive player and has a better footballing brain. He co-ordinates very well and commands the centre of the pitch well. He is a manager in the making because of his great understanding. He's a born leader and that's why all England managers chose him and that's why Mancini picks him and that's why Villa had him as captain. Garcia isn't a patch on Barry and yet I don't even class Barry as a top player.

Stop spouting inane points please, you're making yourself look like a fool because your comments are fallacies. Garcia is bang average. In the league alone I pick Sandro, Fellaini, Carrick, Barry and Lucas ahead of him. I'd also choose a fit and in form Tiote too.

Garcia is fortunate that we bought him, his stint with us will be his career highlight, mark my words.

-- Mon Apr 22, 2013 8:22 pm --

There's nine trophies to prove he's not.
Even Redknapp's won a cup competition. Birmingham won the League Cup a couple of seasons ago and got relegated.

So the only trophies that really count for a great manager are League & European. 2 of the 4 league titles he won really don't count and the other two his teams surrendered decent leads to scrape it on the last day. In Europe he's done the square root of fuck all.

PB defo on a roll, but I think it maybe slightly wasted with some :)

Heart tends to oversee logic - Tunnel vision
I'm sure I saw a stat the other day that said his Inter Milan side had wrapped up the Scudetti in record time with him at the helm one season
Oh,well, truth, story,in the way and all that.
