I don't think he's got a bad attitude at all, he acts a little strange and has an awful taste in cars but I'd hardly say he's got a bad attitude like your Anelka's, Robinho's of this world.

Seeing him stand & watch by as opponents run past him is an attitude problem in my book.
 
Come on people, the comparisons to Lampard are ridiculous. Not merely because Lampard has consistently scored 20+ goals over a 40+ game season from midfield and achieved more in the game than a lot of players (including Ireland) dream of - but also due to the fact that they arent similar players. Its undeniable that Stevie possesses talent that you wouldnt commonly associate with a British footballer (a la Scholes), but his attitude and application this season has been something which is immeasurable when comparing him with Lampard. He was in great form in 08/09 and playing in a free role, but instead of knuckling down and limiting his game to work in a more reserved, central role, he has found himself labouring through games, cheaply giving the ball away; and quite frankly looking like a player who couldnt give a toss.

As for the banner, its stupid. Players who have earnt a legacy at a club should be rewarded with huge banners/stands named after them, not after one season.

I for one am very dissapointed with Steven Ireland this season, and its time he started working harder when he gets his chance. Everyone wants to play in a role that lacks defensive responsibility, but weve moved on from that and so should he. He has all the attributes to play as our central midfield version of Cesc, id keep him one more season to see how much he applies himself second time round.
 
Personally i don't think of Ireland as a Lampard type player I'd put him more in the bracket of Paul Gascoigne. As in he's a phenomenal talent (potentially could be far better than Lampard) he just needs to get his head right and his confidence high to get the best out of him. His confidence being the main problem IMO because when that's not right he at times can go into his shell.

BTW for everyone slagging the lad of, if he's so shit why is he constantly getting linked with some of the best teams in the prem. So far from what i've seen he's been linked with Liverpool, United and Villa. If he was that average/crap with a bad attitude those teams wouldn't even consider him as a potential target yet they are.
 
Tin Hat Time I suppose folks !!!
I am a massive fan of Ireland,but he needs to look at De Jongs attitude.
De Jong will never have the "skill factor" of Ireland,but Ireland should and could be able to at least do the work that Nige carries out, virtually in every match.
This is a guy (Ireland) who never had a decent summer holiday,told everyone how "super fit" he was and then when given the opportunty couldn`t be arsed to "do a bit of overtime" for the 90 minutes on a football pitch.
Stevie my son,you need to look closely at yourself.
Skills in abundance but last season your work ethic was absolutely crap.
No taking the piss with nonsense like "I cant play in this,that and `tother position"
Other players have to learn !!
About time you did.
