Why we will win the league!

I said to the guy sitting next to me at the Liverpool game a few times to look at Klopp, he was going crazy on the sideline ... waving and jumping and yelling and calling out his players and almost tearing his hair out ... which to me said his players weren’t doing what he had asked them to, they were a little in the not-lose mode ... but then with his team selection he himself had set that tone that day ... a team had a chance to go 10 pts clear by being positive and going for the win, but they came wanting to not lose and protect the 7pt lead they had ...

They could’ve gone 10 clear and they didn’t ... today I have seen exactly the same ... they had a chance to go 7 clear and they couldn’t yet again ...

Difference between being 5 pts and 7 pts ahead is huge at this stage of the season ... 5 pts means only two results swap our position with them ... a game lost and one drawn more than us and we finish ahead of them (on goal diff) ... 7 pts however would have meant 3 games needed swinging our way out of the only 14 left ...

I said this on that first Thursday in January, that we’d win this league because they will bottle it and shit themselves come the business end of the season ... and I say exactly that again tonight ...

Now watch us win the next three ... on paper they all look tough but Arsenal, Everton and Chelsea (seen them tonight?) are all right in the form we’d like them to be in ... so c’mon City - let’s do this!
Absolutely agree i knew they would. Im Tottenham we had the same issues a few years ago and it was maybe predictable because we are not arrogant like the scousers( liv). Most Spurs and probably most proper fans want City to win trust me. Only the plastic fantastic want Liverpool. They shit it tonight fair result would have been 3 0 liv goal offside. Come on City

This title race is far from over, and its impossible to predict in what games points will be dropped for either team, as the recent weeks have shown, and as things stand we are 3points down,That is the reality of the current situation. If however, we get our heads in front on equal games played I really think we will go on and win it. Losing top spot with the finishing line in sight( and god knows its been in sight for the dippers since august) will drain them mentally, and that could be the deciding factor. Bring it on.

No prizes for guessing which forum I copied and pasted this from ;)

Yay, Everton will roll over and City will go top, everyone will be happy and those pesky Scousers will be put back where they belong, normal service shall be resumed and the inevitable procession to collective Guardiola worship will be complete. Especially for Manuel Pellegrini, helping the club that sacked him and treated him so despicably, the one that he so desperately loves, along with everyone at the London Stadium and Goodison, hell, the entire fucking world. Woohoo, let's all celebrate the endless success of the appalling human rights record of the financial dopers.

Fuck this bollocks, am out.

Hee hee.

Ramblings of a mad man tonight. It showed just after half time he was close to a panic attack I thought someone should hand him a brown paper bag to breathe into.

Wonder if Klopp goes home and talks to his wife non stop, like he's doing an interview

They looked tired milner looks like 1 of them dogs that back legs have gone! Front 3 look 1 dimensional and always looking for the ball over the top there squad depth is coming back to bite them on the arse now there better players are shagged out and the rest just ain't good enough. The total opposite to us Kdb aguero sane all looking fresh and hitting top form and players like mendy and Vinny to come back fresh only really Spanish Dave looking a bit tired.

TBH I thought KDB looked tired yesterday but tonight Milner looked like KDBs dad after a damned good night out

What, he looked like a wrinkly greying ginger with a fat gut? (No disrespect to KDB fans, it’s just a joke!)

For what it's worth, I looked at some underlying expected goals and points stats from this stage of last season.

In accordance with the underlying stats, we're only doing marginally worse than last season in terms of how many goals we SHOULD have scored and conceded, and how many points we SHOULD have had. Last season we overachieved a small amount on all fronts, this season it's only very slight. But we're definitely the best team according to the underlying xG stats.

Although weirdly, Liverpool are actually performing at the SAME level this season than they were last season. Using rounding, they should have scored 52 goals at this stage as opposed to 53 this time last season. They should have conceded 20 goals as opposed to 24 this time last season. And their expected points is 55 compared to 54 of last year. The point is that they are massively overachieving (which we knew) and that their form is unsustainable. Basically expect them to suffer a major dip, even beyond this point.

For those who don't get xG, here's a basic BBC article explaining it https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/40699431

ps. Tottenham are overachieving way beyond what Liverpool are too, in case you were worried about them.

Assuming we do actually win this league (as some on here seem a lot more confident about) how likely is an unprecedented quadruple?
