Why we will win the league!

what bookies say doesn't mean anything unless we win games, but I know what you mean things can change very quickly in football.
They certainly can, Must admit just before Liverpool played Leicester I honestly thought they'd win their next two games and we could slip up again. 7, 8 or even 9 point lead I was thinking. So glad to be proved wrong.

After the whistle at Newcastle there can't be a blue on here who'd of thought we could be top Wednesday night, IF we beat Everton that is.

Except for Kompany, Fernandinho, Silva and Aguero, this squad have yet to be in a really close title race basically because we were just too good for everyone last season.

At one point we were facing a 10 point deficit if we'd lost to Liverpool and we could've been 7 points behind as recently as a week ago. I don't believe for a second that the manager or players had given up at any point but now that we are back in with a seriously great chance of winning it, the players will have to show a side to themselves that they possibly didn't have to show as much last season.

I think we will really see what this group of players are made of in the next few months.

If we prevail it says a lot about the mentality of this new team Pep has created and bodes very well for the future not only in the league but also in Europe.

There's a lot of winners in the squad I'm sure players like Danilo mendy Gundogan Mahrez Bernardo Jesus have won titles with other clubs alot with teams teams that wasn't expected to win the league.

I bloody hope so - after being ecstatic last night I am a bit more grounded this morning - we are still 3 behind with tough games this week.

Win the next 2 and I think we have a huge chance. We will be at least level with their game in hand at the rags.

Come on City - just keep going.

This will not be a million miles behind Aguero for me if we win it this season.

Nothing can beat that pal

Gillingham comes close

Think this one could be a close as 2012, we may be level on points going into March and the goal difference between both sides is marginal compared to 7 years ago.

Liverpool look like they are running on empty and the lack of depth in the squad is starting to hit. On the other hand I don’t trust our lot from week to week specially after that shit show versus Newcastle and how December panned our. Tomorrow night will answer a question if they believe they can win it, win and the pressure cranks up on them.

What would happen if we end on level points and goal difference, is it on head to heads or do we go to a play off?

We have a bigger quality squad, minimal injuries, experience of winning and they all know we have just got out of jail.
I see nothing but a winning focused mentality, whereas Liverpool have the opposite for me. Time will tell but I see us doing it again.

They are still getting all the luck, decisions going their way, getting penalties when they need them and even though they've picked up a few injuries, none have been to key players. If they were to lose 1 or 2 of VVD, Robertson, Salah, Mane they would be really in trouble. We just have to keep the pressure on and wait for their luck to change. Win the next game - just that.

The scousers are bottling it big time, they've blown it. City to thrash Everton tomorrow to go top albeit Liverpool will have one game in hand. Scousers still have to go to Man u, Everton and Newcastle amongst others, all tough games. They've still to play Spurs and Chelsea at home as well.

I was in the camp of we had no chance on Tuesday night now I am a little more optimistic. They are still 3 clear, it is still in their hands and unless we get our own house in order their lack of form will be irrelevant

It does appear that their strategy of getting knocked out of the cups at the earliest opportunity doesn't look to have paid off

If we win the next 2, which we should. We will be top of the league by the time they play united away, which they usually lose. We could be on level games, level points and us a trophy in the cabinet. If that happens, we have to be favorites from there

Strangely, I am more concerned with playing the likes of Everton, Palace and Bournemouth, away, than playing Chelsea, Spurs and United.

Hopefully Mendy is also coming back soon.

Liverpool's entire season could be defined in the fortnight they play United and Everton away, in between Bayern games.

Wouldn't surprise me if they ditch the Bayern game if it becomes desperate.

Double edged sword having / not having cup games. Didn't do the Scousers any good in last two games.

The longer it goes on, us having more games, the greater risk of injury and fatigue but it also keeps the squad battle hardened.

Pep had enough time to get the team sorted to play with Dinho moving in and out of the back four between a mid-week and weekend game so not sure preparation is a big issue if the results are rolling. I imagine they've worked on the floating Dinho thing for awhile mind but Pep has his players fairly well educated now and presumably has enough in the toolkit to cope with a play / rest scenario.

No nothing can ever beat it but I just hope I can be sat on a beech over the summer with a big smile on my face. I have loved this season. Players have done us proud.
Keep a look out for Tim, he’ll probably be on an Oak

We have Guardiola. They have Klopp
We know how to win it, they can only dream
We can win 13 on the spin. They fucking won't

With alll the luck, the offside goals, keepers practically throwing the ball in the net for them their lead is about to be wiped out
Panic will set in and they will hopefully implode

Come April Yankee candles will be having a field day
I like your song, but that chorus needs some work.

Let's not all get too cocky, eh?

After Newcastle, I have to admit I thought it was hanging on a thread. The points that we had expected them to drop all season had not been dropped. They had lost to us – a reasonable result, because we are in fact a better team – and could still afford to do so while still winning the title.
Now we have been handed a lifeline. Four points dropped in a week. All that will be as nothing if we do not win our next two matches. It'll be thrown away again. This is where the champions must stand up and make their major statement of the season.
Half agree with you. We have to go out and beat a poor Everton team who are in a slump and hopefully we beat them comfortably to put more fear into the dippers' minds but Chelsea is a helluva tough game and a point on Sunday wouldn't be the end of the world.
