Why we will win the league!

Why have we been playing second to Liverpool for months? and I don't mean with the league table I'm on about the fixture dates. Are they trying to ramp up the pressure on us or something... Media, bookies have been going on about it's Cty's title for months and there's no shame in Liverpool finishing second if it ends up being that way. Pissing me off a little bit lol. Liverpool fans keep bragging every single week about how they are going to win the league, you have biased pundits (NBC is better anyway) and we seemingly have a nation fully behind the Liverpool cause.

Not only that but if Liverpool did finish second you would get the "It was bound to happen anyway" if City finish second we'll surely be negatively received right? Well anyway back onto the original point Liverpool seem to have had the play first advantage for a good while now. Liverpool play then we have to match their performance by winning. There's surely less pressure on the team who play first? I would see it that way anyway. The team who are trailing behind with games in hand, playing second each week seems to be a disadvantage and now they have even moved the Leicester game from infront of Liverpool's to behind it. Just sounds a bit odd.

+ Liverpool spent heavily in both of the previous two seasons and we bought Mahrez who doesn't even get into the team. Granted we did spend big amounts on great players seasons prior but so did Liverpool. I just don't see how we have been labelled the big favourites from the off.

Actually scrap the last sentence (i won't edit it out)

In fairness we didn’t last year. Obviously agree that we need to this year though!
Yes but this year we dropped points at places we wouldn't expect to . No room for error but we will be totally focused. Can still see the dippers slipping up though

They got lucky in a few of the game most thought they would drop points. Still think they will struggle more with wolves than most people think. Either way we need to be winning all three of our remaining games.
They may struggle with wolves, they may not, they may be lucky, they may not, but they will win. So, yes we need to win all three of our remaining games.

MY thought is they may rest players for Barca if we are still ahead which will give Newcastle a chance.
That’s an interesting thought, do they try to win both or focus on the league (which they want more but it is out of their hands)? It does make more sense to ensure that you have more than enough to get the 3 points whilst resting some for the tough Barca double header.

I hope Barca rest some player today and they go really strong against them in CL. Imo Pool has a very good defence this season if they can keep Barca at clean sheet in Camp Nou thats a huge thing.

Now we have the advantage of not being in the CL but can we use it to our advantage? I expect a very hard game vs Burnley where it still could be 0-0 around 70th minute and pressure will be huge.

We need a clean sheet imo or a very early goal to not let them sit back and grow into a big defensive performance.

The scouse cumts can do what they want, klopp will not rest players with 2 games to go and risk losing out, he play strongest in all 4 games and the mommentum they have kept up will mean it won't affect them if they do.

People need to stop holding put on a scouse tiring out or slip up, let's just do our job sunday and then go on to the foxes game.

Thinking back to the situation when 2019 startet off,
the current setup is like a present.

Leading by 1 point, all we have to do is:
Beat Burnley away.
Beat Leicester home.
Beat Brighton away.

If we would be offered that setup pre any season, we would immadiately take it.

If we get through this now, it would be incredibly tough by our squad and hard fought, especially in their minds.

Next season would be easier again I think. Dippers had an ideal season where anything went right.
Other top teams have much more squad problems and we won't change too much in our game.

If we beat Burnley , then we have the favourable remaining two fixtures compared to the Dippers , their delusion that Brendan and Rafa are going to do them favours is just a sign of their rabid desperation , and then throw in a tough couple of games against Barca , whilst we a full week to recover for our last two fixtures. Three points against the six fingered sheep shaggers and the pendulum swings massively towards us , even Fred Done will be paying out.

If we are good enough, we will win it! if not Liverpool will deserve to win it!

Spot on. We all complain against decisions which don’t go our way but they do tend to even out. In truth, we are not walking the league because Mahrez missed the penalty at Anfield; we are out of the CL because Sergio missed a penalty at Spurs and because Eric suddenly forgot how to defend. By the same token we are still up for the treble because the team really are that good. We are masters of our own destiny just like we were at the start of the season.

If we are good enough, we will win it! if not Liverpool will deserve to win it.

Not sure I completely agree with that.
It's easy to say that about them at this stage when the finish line is within view.

However, let's not forget this competition started last August. Since that time they've engineered early exits from domestic cups which enabled them to fly off on holidays (sorry warm weather training in Dubai) twice while we've been slogging it out in all four competitions.

The thing about Liverpool and their hunger and determination to win the premier league that pisses me off is "where was all this vigor and gusto to win the title in 1992, 1995 (when Blackburn won it) 1999, 2001, 2008. 2014?

You can see where I'm going with this.
Let's not forget Liverpool is one of the four clubs the premier league was created for. So why didn't they win the title when the rags were hoovering up all the trophies?

This !! Ive said for weeks they wont drop a point and i still dont think they will. So we have to win all ours too. Its as simple as that.

Deep down i didnt think we’d get maximum points v the scum and spuds, but we did.

But now the hard work starts

3 games (4 for greatness)

Did anyone else hear Klopp's post match interview?

"All we can do is win our games. If 'someone' wants us to win the title then we'll win the title"

Does he know something we don't?

Not sure I completely agree with that.

I could be wrong but I’m sure they had bad results when they came back from their holidays

The Premier League was created by and for the perceived “Big Five” at the time:
Arsenal
Everton
Liverpool
Manchester United
Tottenham Hotspur

The funny thing was that City Leeds Villa Coventry Norwich QPR Chelsea Blackburn Leicester Newcastle and others all broke into this top5, some even winning it, numerous times after its conception above that “Big Five” and Liverpool have only challenged for the title three times in all its years, Spurs only once and Everton haven’t at all.
