Why we will win the league!

Lets see, Nothing significant in Europe yet, but indisputable kings of Domestic arena. Good luck for the rest of the season.
@Aguero, I support Liverpool but the 93.2 was one of the finest sporting moments of premier league for me.

Hello pal,can i ask....? What made you support Liverpool?

Because Gabriel Jesus is about to explode with goals over the rest of this season.
He’s started to look like a player with confidence, on the ball and most importantly in front of goal.

I believe we'll win every game but the bit in bold isn't right IMO, Spurs and Utd will be more difficult games.
I don't know where this idea that Palace are anything but a poor side came from ?

People seem to forget Palace were very fortunate to win at the Etihad, it was just one of those days that everything went right for them. They have been fighting relegation all season and are now about safe. They are not a good side at all but it seems people got it in their heads Palace were a top six level side almost. Many of the same will say Newcastle were shite yet deserved their win against us way more than Palace. I think Newcastle could well take something of Liverpool up there as well.

A lot depends on how Benitez approaches it. Will he want to do them a favour or would he prefer to remain more successful than Klopp as lpool boss? Hopefully the latter.

Just heard this on a City podcast (MEN one they dish out every now and then) ... am giving credit where it’s due and this isn’t mine:

“Get this ... forget the quad, how’s this for a treble ...

If Liverpool will all their remaining games and so do we ... we’d end up on 98 points and them on 97 ...

That one game against them at the Etihad (that started this thread, see my very first post) ... would be the single cause of this treble:

1- Liverpool not winning the league and going on to 30 years without one.

2- Liverpool won’t be the reincarnation of Invincibles, with that being the only game they’d have lost all season.

3- They’d also miss out on becoming Centurions and finishing just 3 points short, that game’s 3 points :)

How much was that goal line clearance by Stones in that game again? 11mm? Fine margins eh ;)”

The 4-3 still rankles the Geordies . I don’t think they will ever forgive Liverpool but are they good enough against this very lucky and good Liverpool team which I hate to say . I think Liverpool won there remaining games .

Dave Kidd a second rate journo I know says Liverpool's only defeat against us was unlucky. On what basis were they unlucky, any ideas?

They didn't get a penalty or an offside goal and we played a proper keeper. Terrible luck for them.

Stupid though to focus on one match. They can live on if only all they like and proclaim themselves true champions. If we win it we win it and they don't. Fuck em.

That's a nice thought, if it pans out that way.

Although it's perhaps even odder to think that if Mahrez could score a penalty, Liverpool would only have lost 2 league games all season - both to us.

I think Benitez still holds alot of affection for Liverpool, he lives amongst them on the Wirral.

Whilst much like Palace yesterday they are just about safe so you would think they maybe one foot on the beach.

However its also worth remembering the 52k who have no love for Liverpool who will be turning up. They stuffed Spurs at home 5-1 when they were already relegated and Spurs were playing to finish above Arsenal and a Champs League spot. Benitez was manager and a good few of the players are the same.

Not for one minute do I believe that Newcastles players will do anything other than run thier bollocks off to try and get a result, just as they did against us. After all they lost thier last home game and wont want to loss two on the bounce at this stage of the season.

All in all they are not a great side but they can be very difficult to beat and have frequently given top 6 sides problems up there....I think they will get something off Liverpool.

I could not imagine losing a season with 97 points.....actually couldn't imagine losing with 96 if we don't win all ours either. Either way one team is going to be gutted and it would be the greatest season ever.

Remember last season with our mini blip at end of season and we went to Spurs and won - the emotions Pep showed after that game showed he knew we were going to do it. Same thing for this weekend for me...win and we will be over a major hurdle. Follow that with a win at OT and the Liverpool bubble may just pop.

Yes they were good enough to beat us, and they did so fair and square.

The Liverpool game is the last game of the season and they will want to be sending their fans away with a decent effort and result, and beating Liverpool would likely be something celebrated through the close season.

I just have a feeling that in a couple of weeks time Newcastle United will be seen as the finest football club the world ever witnessed on blue moon.

Nobody does anybody any favours. The vast majority of players at any given club couldn’t give a fuck about which clubs are disliked by fans of their own club.

I realised this when we battered Leeds 4-0 near the end of the season when leeds and the rags were vying for the title

It’s how it should be I suppose

I’ve said it for weeks!! I want both of us to win every game until the last day??? Hope brings eternal. Then we do what we do best and lift that trophy, it will kill em off for good!! Klopp will burrow his way back to Germany, big nose will break down on soccer Saturday, Robbie Fowler will od on coke, James Milner will fuck off into acting as shrek. Then finally the council will hold a bus parade for the moral winners who have spent no money, have the best fans and manager in the world. Then announce next year will be our year!!

Candles out

Cardiff are shite but I’m hoping they get a result at Brighton in mid week just so they have something to play for versus Liverpool. Even if a win is unlikely.

Would you rather

1) have 4 matches left that you should win, which might make you champions

2) have 5 matches left which you could win, which WILL make you champions

Definitely 2 for me. We will start every game as strong favourites apart from the rags where we’ll be slight favourites. And I’ve seen enough from them recently to know they’re very beatable and that’s before you consider whether they or the crowd will be fully up for the game

Doubt they will collapse this season tbh. The indications are that we have to win every game. People have been predicting they will drop points for weeks now and they haven't. It is in our hands but even a draw for either team will probably be fatal at this stage.

Well more through luck than judgment. Took a Lloris special and an offside goal to beat Spurs and Southampton. That luck could continue, but the thing about luck is it can change anytime. You roll 3 sixes in a row, the odds of rolling a fourth are still 1 in 6. Maybe 1 in 3 as PFA Refs are like a loaded die.

Particularly after seeing our performance on Sun which was close to a masterclass. Just two errors - Sterling's miss and the wall fuck off (in fairness of an imaginary free kick). What is almost certain is we will have more of the ball and create more chances than all 5 of our remaining opponents. So we take our chances (as we by and large did yesterday) then we are champs in May
