Why we will win the Premier League

United season ticket holder here in peace

To the author of the thread so you will win the league because United have an average keeper, that doesn't say much then about your confidence in your team. Do you not think it will have quite a lot to do with the £300m you've spent?

As for the De Gea,yes he's had some bad moments but since the Liverpool FA Cup game mistake he's been brilliant,He was Utd's player of the month & check out hos shot stopping, brilliant. He's not the finished article by any means but he's 19 & it's his 1st season in a foreign country so all at United are behind the lad

De Gea is 21 mate but your point still stands. He has looked pretty good recently and has been saving you points rather than costing them. I think he is adjusting well. If Utd win it which if I wasn't a Manc I may be putting money on I think the desire and experience of players like Giggs & Scholes are a big factor.

Enjoy the ride mate. Hopefully it will be close one way or the other. I'm praying after waiting a long time but at least we are challenging I should be grateful for that.

In peace or not your on the wrong site mate, I am sure a club like yours has plenty of these fan forums, why not go and join one of them? Just do not get your logic??

Premier league myths number 64: David de Gea is shit.

He's simply not. If he was actually shit, United would never have signed him. He's not the finished article, but he's not another Massimo Taibi either.

The difference between the rags and City at the end of this season is going to depend a LOT more on the rest of the squads and the managers than it is on who has the best keeper.

Shited are out of the Europa League tonight, but NOT because of De Gea, and funny old thing, City ARE out despite Hart. Keepers aren't the be all and end all.

Why we will win the Premier League?....No we will not! Mancini OUT

Is it a coincidence that Tevez is back and our form nose dives ?

Dunno. How long has Tevez been back, a week or two? And our form has been shit since, oh about January.

Whatever's going on, it's not about Tevez.

For all the negativity amongst our supporters at the moment, and I've seen and heard lots of it over the past week, I thought I'd pass on something which I believe will make the difference and will ultimately mean we will be Crowned Champions at the end of the current season.

There is ONLY one common denominator for teams that have reached the pinnacle of Englands footballing elite and to have become Englands 1st Division/Premier League, over the past 40 years.

ALL have had at the time, a goalkeeper between the sticks who is if not the very best in the Country, is very close to the best, and on almost every occasion one who was playing superbly and at the very top of his game.

The records show this consistently year by year, for 40 years.

Arsenal -Wilson, Lukic. Liverpool - Clemence, Groblar. Forest - Shilton. Everton -Southall. Leeds - Sprake, Lukic. Man Utd - Schmeichel, Van der sar.
Chelsea - Cech. etc, etc.

Now I appreciate there may have been the very odd exception, but these were a long time ago and even on those cases ie Rimmer at Villa, the individuals at that particular time was in excellent form.

So I just can't believe, even with all the media bias, spin and mind games, that a team with a goalkeeper as poor as De gea, are going to break what seems to be an almost unwritten rule, and win our League with albeit a possible future prospect, but clearly now no more than a moderate at best stopper as their rear guard.

I have been saying this for a long time and with the superlative form of Hart I see absolutely no reason for us to sucomb to the fears that seem to be surfacing amongst many of us, keep up the belief, it is our year, and nobody, especially our Noisy neighbours will spoil our party, they just aren't that good!.

The problem is United have 8 shoe ins of games, then us which we have to win, and a slightly difficult away game at Sunderland to finish which when the chips are down they will win.

To win the title we will have to do something that no other City team has done since 1974, and thats beat Arsenal away. Will we win that game imo the answer is no, a draw is the best we can hope for. lets start planing for next season with the purchase of a decent centre half, to replace K Toure or Savic in the squad. Ideally it would be someone to replace Lescott who can then become the back up. Gutted tonight to say the least!
